to be fair, sunderland looked really good against liverpool and would have got a draw if not for mr torres

if we lose, it means i wont watch MOTD, wont ready any papers, and wont watch sky over the weekend

We are basically under a lot of pressure to win on Saturday particularly bexause we then go to Chelsea before International Break. To go into mid September with 0 or 1 points is unthinkable and whilst 3 games don't make a season we might as well give up on top 4 finish there and then. (if we actually harboured any hopes of achieving top 4 anyway).

Sunderland were decent last year at our place and were unlcky to lose. Like us they will be determined not to lose 2 in a row. However, the thing that comforts me the most is the knowledge that player for player we are better than them and if we can play at anything over 75% we will win.

We need to win. Its our home opener. Sunderland are normally shit away from home and the lads need the confidence it would bring.

i hope jenas and dawson are dropped, ohara partners zoko in the DM zone and modric is played in the middle of the AM. berbatovs presence in this game would be irrelevant if we play this solid system with players sticking to their roles and not wandering or drifiting (apart from modric of course!)

I'm at the Lane on Saturday and as a safeguard if we lose I've got two weeks holiday in France starting Sunday. If the Chelsea Villa results are also shit I might stay there!

At least 75% as Chimbo, Malbranque, Tainio & Reid will all be giving 110% for Sunderland if they are playing!

i think a loss could save our trasnfer window, it would shock levy into paying up for the players we need, rather than pissing about with the deals.

I think Sunderland are a much better team than boro, and thanks to Keane they will be well up for it, and will know we are under pressure, a smash and grab wouldnt surprise me on sat.

Tbh it wouldn't surprise me if we lost 'we are Tottenham from the Lane' we do thing the hard way. We were made to suffer, thats what being a Spurs fans all about...throw in a couple glory cup runs, a few glamorous signings and entertaining football were happy.

I predict a Draw.

I dunno, boro may not be much cop, but at home they are a good side. I don't think many good teams will get much from there, it will be the shit teams that get results when Boro let their guard down, after all, only chelsea won there out of the top 5 last year.

We should be rinsing sunderland AND boro at home though, WHL should be a fortress like the emirates, OT or stamford bridge. Our quality on paper should count for something at home, if not, then we need to be asking serious questions.

I thought Sunderland deserved something from last seasons game at the Lane, they're a good side, although any kind of win will do me, we cannot afford anything less than the three points.
