Who is the new scapgoat?

With Benty abdicating the post, who should be the new scape goat?

What is a scapgoat?

The scapegoat was a goat that was driven off into the wilderness as part of the ceremonies of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, in Judaism during the times of the Temple in Jerusalem. The rite is described in Leviticus 16.

Since this goat, carrying the sins of the people placed on it, is sent away to perish [1], the word "scapegoat" has come to mean a person, often innocent, who is blamed and punished for the sins, crimes, or sufferings of others, generally as a way of distracting attention from the real causes.

e.g. Darren Bent over that last 12 months.
Given the clubs religious affiliations, I see why we have always had a scapegoat now....Eek

For those American thinkers out there, who have complained, this thread is ironic. Not even in the 10,0o0 spoons Alanis Morrisette way.

BAE's actually one of our strongest tacklers—far better than Hutton. His problem is that he goes in rashly when he has no need to, as on Sunday.
Got to agree SS57, but isn't that pasrt of the rashness of yuf. With good coaching he will learn to improve decision making and positional play.
I still think Jenas will take over from Bent as the crowd's boo boy eventually for no apparent reason/:bang:

Agree with that too...he's well ahead of Bale for the LB spot at the moment. His crosses aren't too bad either.

Every team has their own scap(e)goat. not just us. so I think we should treat it as a bit of a giggle. I will go for my top 10. Feel free to disagree and discuss and we can come up with a definitive list

1: Gomes. Firmly at the top of the list. Media and fans solidly behind his "demise"
2: Zokora. Even though had a couple of good games lately, has a strong, loyal following of "haters"
3: Hutton. Shocking mistake at the Emirates and general bad performances lately. playing the "personal problems" card which is working within some sectors, but its not enough for many others.
4: Bale. the curse. Enough said.
5: Jenas. old faithful. Will always be up there. regardless of great goals or performances
6: Dawson. we've heard it before. "not the same player without ledley next to him". drops down the list due to limited opotunities, and a fine performance against Liverpool.
7: Bent. For the shocking and deeply un-reasonable excuse of not being Berbatov, and costing more than him. Recent performances have knocked him down the list, although i do feel his tripping over in front of an open goal for England has put him in the firing line again. I can hear the "i told you so" rumblings already.
8: Ghaly. honourable placing on the list, especially considering he has not played for near on 2 years for us. thats a special kinda hatin'.
9: Lennon. Regardless of having a very decent season, those "final ball" murmorings never cease.
10; Bentley. plays the "flash Git" card to perfection. Wildly hated by all non-spurs fans,

We have to make it a team, so for the 11th I've gone all Ramos (cant decide on team formation). Should I play one off and blame Modric for being so expensive and not scoring 3 per game or THuss for being so big and talented yet not imposing himself on every game? or mayve even Pav for not being Keane.

From wikipedia: (Dont know the etymology, does it matter?)

I like the way it is so very Jewish, and we as Spurs fans are so good at doing it.

How times have changed huh...
