Bale will stay, no one bar City could afford him and can't see him going to Spain

If Inter offered Eto'o plus cash for Bale I would bite their bloody hand off though

Modric will stay I am sure

VDV 50/50 I would say, has been a bit petulant lately and if that sours relations with Harry can see him looking to move on

Bale and Modric 50/50
VDV, Hudd, Lennon and others will stay.

Really? Even after Bale signed a new contract?

Mod is a worry though, however I think they will all stay. Harry is no mug and will be planning all this if we dont make the top four. Stuff like he has come out and said today is all part of it. It makes the players and us still keep belief.

The contract doesn't mean a great deal really does it? He's going to be strongly linked with every big club in the world(and city) this summer. I don't think the club would actively accept a bid for him, but if Madrid/Barca/Utd put the pressure on I can see Bale caving and asking to go, unfortunately.

As for Luka, he does seem the loyal type but again those clubs above will all be interested in him. If he was Bale's age then I wouldn't be worried but he's 25/26 and won't stick around forever unless we move up another level.

I'm loving the optimism flowing through this thread (makes a change...!), but i honestly can't see vdv staying if we're not in the CL next year. He'll not have developed the loyalty that the others have from their time here (especially during the dark days) and will be in a very good position to move to one of the top teams given his success this season, Man U for example. Not sure he'd be a massive loss, assuming we can actually sign someone in the summer, and i'd certainly prefer him to go than any of the others (hoping he proves me wrong and stays, like...).

Cant see VDV leaving. He was THE man when he played for Hamburg. In a team that was beginning to challange for top domestic honours as well as qualifying for the champions league. He left and went to a TOP club in R.Madrid, and was overshaddowed and didnt get as much playing time as he liked. Cant see him making the same "mistake" again in jumping ship... he knows we are on the up and are building something, and genuinely seems like he wants to be a part of it. I like the fact he has a strop and throws is toys out when he is subbed etc.. shows he cares, and wants to play well. As long as he leaves it all out there, and doesn't start causing problems off the pitch, then fine by me.

I think they'll all stay. Bales signed a new contract which indicates he wants to stay and they only reason we would get rid of him is if he asked to go. VDV says he loves it here. I can't see Big Tom moving to anyone better than us so not sure why he'd go. The same with Lennon. The only one I'd be worried about would be Modric, but Harry's already stated that we won't be selling him. Most importantly there seems to be genuine belief that we can win things now so why leave?

I hope they will all stay and think they will. They must realise we are team-building and that it takes a few seasons to get it right.

We've lost players in the past who should have stayed and helped Spurs work towards being the best but I think this exciting squad has what it takes, with the addition of just a few more really excellent players.

I think the signing of the contract extension shows he is willing to stay for at least another year.

Why else would he sign it? Things change but as of this moment he's obviously happy to stay.

If we keep the likes of Bale, Modric, VdV and get rid of Keane, Defoe and Pav I think we could be spending big in the summer and will attract very good players regardless of CL qualification.

Wouldn't be surprised if this was a 'shop window' season for VDV, a la Klinsmann. He's shown himself to be really quite petulant and self-interested of late. So he'd be my favourite to go if we don't make fourth.

The others I reckon will stay, though it will be an arse-clenching summer as Bale & Modric will be linked with all and sundry. But miss out two seasons in a row and Bale and Modric will both be off, for sure. Not so sure about Hudd and Lennon, really don't think they're that highly thought of away from Spurs any more.

Interesting you didn't put Gallas in the poll, who's practically said in interviews that he's off if we don't get fourth.

Surely if this were the case he'd wait until the end of the season before sulking.

Throwing paddys 9 games before the end of the season doesn't strike me as a way to advertise yourself to the next buyer.

I hadn't heard that about Gallas, but arguably he's more replaceable then any of the others.

I've never hear that comment about Gallas either and I would be very suprised if he left as I'm sure he's enjoying more than most his time at Tottenham.
IMHO none of them will leave if we don't reach the top 4 as a) the majority seem to enjoy their time at W.H.L. and b) they see on a daily basis how far the squad has come in a relatively short period of time

Anyhow, we'll reach 4th and so there's no need to speculate further

If England balls up the qualifying campaign and call for Harry then I can see some players leaving if we finish 5th

i have no doubt united and the united loving press boys will drum up modric to united as soon as spurs lose out on 4th and knocked out of champions league talk.. its inevitable.. i even think we will get all the bale to every tom dick and harry team in summer too even though he just signed contract .

what would be great wud be a couple of top signings at seasons end to get everyone excited and players excited about next season and not leaving it drag as usual till aug 31st

So, that's never then:roll:

Please, try to understand, it is EXTREMELY annoying talking about us failing to get top 4 as though it has happened already. Last time I looked we were right in there with it all to play for.

I wouldn't be surprised if VdV left, and I don't think it would be a disaster if he did.

It would say more about him than us, I think. He's a bit of a nomad. He came here almost by accident in a very last minute deal.

And he has a disproportionate effect on our shape and style. He's a great player, sure, but I think maybe we're a bit deferential towards him. Saturday was a case in point. We ended up playing with one small out of form striker - against West Ham at home!

I'm not saying I want him to go or that he's not class. I just think he might go and I don't think it would hurt us that much.

If Modric goes, the sky will blacken, the seas will boil and the end of days will be upon us. Or something.

Luka Modric is the one that I'm fearful of...I reckon he'll be off within two seasons as its obvious Modrics of regular CL level, and i don't know if we'll be able to match that without a world class striker.

IMO Modric Bale Van De Vaart are the players top teams have an eye on.

I think they will all certainly stay for another season if we didnt get in the champions league. However if dont finish in top 4 next season then we might have abit of trouble keeping hold of them.
