Heard anything about the Tasci interest, which the Journo has said is pretty much a done deal?

Could well be the case. We have a few targets, I think we're edging towards Cahill because of Prem experience which could be the reason we're holding up the Tasci deal.

We do have an interest in Gary Cahill... the price reported in the media is higher than what we'd actually have to pay by all accounts! We're also interested in the Twente CB Douglas if that doesn't come off. Never heard of him personally, not sure if he even played against us last year? But we definitely want a new CB, which I think we knew already...

Do you know the figures involved for Douglas?

According to wiki he's 23, 6ft 4 Brazilian centre back and recently received a 6 match ban for punching a player and pushing the ref .... hmmm

Isn't it a bit late in the day for expressing interest in players? Why can't we be normal - make a bid, if it's accepted, great. If not, move on.

I get keeping our options open but the window closes soon!

I'm a little confused as surely Douglas (no prem experience) would be a squad player were as Cahill would expect to play? Do we want another Bassong or a 1st choice centre back?

either would do for me. both great partners for any of our other CBs.

Just wish we would get either of them done so we can settle that position and get the team gelling.

Harry said nothing wrong on his SSN interview this afternoon. It's just people hanging on his every word so they can nail him if he makes the slightest gaff. So so boring.

We just had a time out for SSN so please drop it... Spurs chat for that ...

Re Cahill what I've seen of him he looks very composed on the ball and is breaking into the England squad ... Re some one who said are we looking for a Bassong or first team player, we should always look for first team, if they are good enough then some one else from the first team should fall back into the basson role and bassong then leave ... that way you are constantly imrpoving the whole squad but also the first team...

Got a bit of ITK around Lennon which will probably be my first and last which comes from a friend who spoke to someone high up at the club. Basically if a club come in with a decent offer for him that they'd be willing to sell, he has a bit of a habit getting drunk when the club have asked to not to go out. They also realise his pace won't keep up over a long time so they want someone with better technique, however they do realise he's still a decent player so they're not too desperate to sell and I'd expect him to stay at least for this window.

pretty sound reasoning there mate, pace is always the first to go.

I've often wondered how Lennon would be when he's 27/28/29.

It's never a nice thought really.

Douglas Costa would be nice. Not sure about the centre back though.

I really hope we get Ade sorted soon, otherwise i'll be more and more concerned as the week goes on.

Yes I do have the 31st off work too

As for the Lennon ITK, sorry but there's no chance we would sell him now imo. We'd need a replacement and it's a bit too late in the window now I think. Plus why worry about his pace now? Forget how young he is? That would be a really poor excuse to sell him now.

Just wondering about CorlukaModric's post re: nothing on the OS about team news.

Could it be that Modric is actually playing tonight?? Did Harry actually say the words Luka Modric is not playing against United?

Sounds like he could be cheap then.

Only over the last few years has Giggs seemed to lose his pace, Martin Petrov is still rapid at 32 and Drogba is no slouch at 33.

Owen lost his pace due to injury, it's all about how you look after yourself these days.

are we the supporters not being strung along on this whole merry go round. it was a month ago that we heard some mods say there is still a month to go in the window, now please don't get all anxious or loose your marbles as we still have nine days to go. a day before the window closes we will hearthere is still one day to go.

on that day we will sell Modric as his head was turned and for the moral in the team it was decided that it was best we sell him, oh and we were left with no time at all to make a replacement signing. yeah right.

That's like saying that a cleptomaniac managed to go shopping without stealing anything and then offering them a job with securicor!

He may well have managed to say nothing much TODAY, but yesterday e said enough to damage us and plaster us all over the backpages, yet again!

You simply don't weaken your position by telling the world that the player you are desperately trying to hang on to is "not right in the head", you just don't do it.

The man is a fucking menace..........
