Wow, 3 games in, and Levy must go, AVB is clueless, the formations all wrong, we're going to get relegated!!!
Chill out, stop acting like over excited teenagers.
There has been a major change to the squad. No matter what team that has a major overhaul, there is always a time period until players know the system and each other. This also goes for the new manager. He has a different style, therefore there is obviously a bedding in period for the players to come accustomed to his style. Add to the fact we have lost our playmaker, then patience is needed.
This is excatly what happened at Chelsea for AVB, media disgruntlement, because he treated them with the contempt they often deserved (and they didnt like that) Which led to fan disatisfaction which eventually tied with poor results led to the sack.
He has to be given time, otherwise we shoot ourselves in the foot. He has rebuilt the squad. In my opinion he needs probably 2 seasons to get his ethos and style embedded. Only then would it be fair to judge him.
It is ridiculous to moan and groan like children after 3 results. If you really want Spurs to fail this season and fulfill the prophecy then boo them, talk negative, let them get nervous on the pitch, call for AVB's head, get him sacked in December, get in a new manager, and start all over again!! Probably with the same results, but you just extend the pain. It takes time to embed a new style, look at Liverpool, IMO they have had a worse start than us, does that mean Brendan Rogers is a failure? I dont think so. Hopefully they are short sited and they dont give him time, doing that can only work in the oppositions favour.

Thank you, we seem to be suffering a year on year increase in the levels of hysteria and it is getting to be very dull indeed.

Well said, the expectation levels are ridiculously beyond what they should be at this time, yes I'm disappointed but not surprised, it must take time, of that there should be no doubt.
The stupid thing is that I can think of nothing AVB and his team can do that could match the complete and utter devastation that was visited on us last season, it's almost as though fans didn't get the chance to vent their spleen on that due to the season ending and so the current coach and squad are taking the brunt of that resentment.
We need to remember that from rock bottom the only way is up, it will come, with our support, keep the faith.

TBF I don't think it's ureasonable to be finishing a season 4th and then expecting to win the first 2 home games of the next season against West Brom and Norwich

Exactly, regardless of manager, we should expect to win those games.

Even if we were champions, we would still draw or loose to teams like that. We are tottenham people...

Which part of the home defeat to Norwich lady year makes you think we have a divine right to win these matches?

There is a big difference between divine right and expect. Why misquote someone?

We finished 4/5/4, a home game against Norwich and I would expect most neutral fans to tip us to win.

Yeah I expect they would but, assuming you didn't start supporting spurs this season, you know Spurs don't always win these games, never have, never will.

What if everybody turned up not expecting to win but doing their very utmost to ensure we do by offering the team full positive vocal support? I know. It's a bit out there, but I think we should give it a try.

Agree. This was always going to be a transitional season. We've shipped about 10 players out and brought in 6. We've lost 3 world class players in King, Modric & VdV but we've brought in players to strengthen a team playing style. In Dembele, Vertonghen & Lloris we could have 3 new world class players, but they need time to develop and gel.

AVB out calls on twitter & in the media are absolutely ridiculous. And as for the Levy out calls, yes he can be a frustrating chairman, but in the premier league, before Levy we on average finished 10th. Since Levy we on average finish 7th, but in the last four seasons we average finishing 5th. Levy has brought gradual but continual progress, and he's done it without saddling us with debt.

If he delivers a new stadium, without too much debt while keeping the team challenging for 4th, IMHO we can't reasonably ask for more. Silverware would be a bonus... But once we have the new stadium & those on the season ticket waiting list can actually buy one, then hopefully we can kick on & be genuine challengers.

Ye I mean it's not like that sort of attitude helped in our champions league games at the lane.

Well that is all I said, yes I expect the team to beat WBA and Noewich at home, I know as well as anyone we have no divine right to win.

18 jan 1975 thought me that, 15,000 fans in a 50,000 capacity WHL saw us lose 1-3 to Sheff Utd. It was my first home defeat, I was one of the 15,000. It still burns deep inside me! Yet if we played them tomorrow I would expect to win.

Our fans turning up expecting the players to put some effort in appears to be the problem here.

For the nth-thousandth time it is the performance, not the result that's the issue here. The team had a better reception when we lost 5-1 to Citeh last season.

By-the-by how many more separate threads do we need on this? The order of the words seems to change but not the message. The booers are all ****s blah, blah blah.

The performance was better last week but there was still booing. We need to gee up the players, not send them into hiding.

Fair enough! It does hurt.

My point, and this isn't aimed at you, is that whilst we're all disappointed, the thing we can do , as fans, is turn on the team.....let's leave that to everyone else!
