Can we sell the fans who support Harry Redknapp FC as opposed to THFC....?

Its not a case of supporting Harry over Spurs fella, its a case of looking at how Levy has totally fucked up on this one, and its clear we are going backwards not forwards since Harry left!

You also get this feeling QPR will give Harry there full backing, and he will do a very good job there...give it 3 months and i bet there will be some Harry bashers, wishing he was still are manager!

I voiced my doubts over AVB's appointment from the start, i stressed that we didnt need change in the way we play, it was also suggested Levy was going to back him massively! unfortunately for AVB, he hasnt been 100% backed by Levy for some reason, and i cant help but feel Levy is sitting in his office thinking what the fuck have i done.

Injuries have undoubtadly been a curse this season, but its clear the quality in depth wasnt adressed, and major signings wasnt equal or an upgrade on the players that were sold!

Its going to be a long season, yes we have seen glimpses of the old Spurs of last season, but not enough in my eyes to see us grabbing 4th this year..January TW is going to show us wether Levy, is prepared to back AVB 100% and for our sakes i hope he does, but i just cant see it unfortunately.

Oy... Good old dirty 'arry... I'll always have a sweet spot for him. He can have Livermore, AVB's bracelet and Cudicini.

I like the bracelet. It's sort of a human touch when everything else about him is mechanically precise. It so doesn't go with his expensive suits or watch, that it's clearly sentimental.

Yes, because it's so easy to sign strikers in January.
That's why I said maybe. If they were to offer us £10m+ I think Levy would do it regardless and buy someone cheap from Serie A like Quagliarella or Matri.

Perhaps Livermore on loan also

Dawson
Gallas (this will depend on Kaboul)
Defoe (in the summer)
Parker "

Gallas? Surely not!

It will also depend on Benny, for whom there's still no return date, so outing both Dawson and Bunglin' Billy whilst Vermaelen may have to deputise at LB could be asking for trouble. It wasn't that long ago that five CBs went down to two in a couple of weeks. One hopes Kaboul will make a complete recovery and be back to his old self, but you never know.

Folk like Sunny are induced to make comments like this because they believe that the fact that so many decided AVB would fail before he had even had a game in charge, and now, with undue haste, and scant regard to the reality of the situation, they are deciding they have been proven correct, and stating this as an abstract fact.

Here's news for you, fella: Levy hasn't totally fucked this one up...because AVB is NOWHERE near failing, yet.

Let's examine the circumstances: We are two points behind the Goons, who are likely to be our main rivals for 4th, having played them at their place, a game we were ahead and dominating until one of our most important players on the pitch that day got himself ridiculously sent off. We are well within touching distance of 4th. We have been without 4 and 7 1st team players, for one reason or another - on top of having lost our three top players in the Summer. Our 1st choice back-line will surely be Lloris in front of Walker Kaboul Vertonghen BAE. So far, during a transitional phase, we have had one of them in position (and just two on the pitch at all) and he has been off form. I'm pretty certain this will improve. We have played all four of the top teams in less than the first third of the season - we have played three of them away, technically the hardest games of the season. So, technically we have played 3 out of our 4 hardest games in LESS than the first third of the season. And we are two points off the Goons and well within reach of 4th, having played 3 of our 4 hardest games during a transitional period with an unfavourable injury list. And you consider that proof that AVB has failed

We needed a change in the way we played (a gross simplification of the reasons for removing Mr Redknapp) because we were in a dismal tailspin, and had shown over more than one season that there were extreme limitations to Mr Redknapp's approach, the evidence of which included a tendency to fall away and a total inability to deal with certain types of opponents playing in certain ways.

As for our Summer signings: I would say that Vertonghen and Dembélé have already shown why they were bought. Lloris looks like a top signing, IMVHO. And that leaves Demspey and Sigurdsson - and the mob have been on their cases since virtually day one, whereas, IMHO, neither has been fairly judged. Dempsey is not here to be number one striker, he is here to be a squad player. I doubt it was ever envisaged that he would have played so much so soon. I doubt it was envisaged that we would be playing anything other than with a lone striker - and as such, he would have been third choice striker, back up for the back up. Are you sure that is what you are judging him on? I am also sure that he would have looked better playing behind Adebayor - I can name two occasions myself where Dempsey was running into space in the area, Defoe had three or four defenders ahead of him, it would have been easier to find Dempsey than score, and Demspey would have been almost nailed on to score if Defoe had done so, and yet Defoe elected to shimmy and blast - and, surprisingly, hit one of the defenders, destroying the attack  As for Sigurdsson, where is his best position? How many times has he played there? Who would he be best playing behind? How many times has he played behind him? I, for one, was pleased with his effort on Thursday. Just yet more jumping in way too quickly, judging way too harshly, knee-jerk nonsense, IMVHO.

But, there again, the media told us that AVB had fecked up the Lloris situation before Lloris had even been eligible to play. They told us that Adebayor was being left out when he was injured. They have told us that AVB is repeating the same mistakes even though close analysis shows that, if anything, it is exactly the opposite. And they have told us he has failed and that must be true mustn't it?

Has he had a press conference yet? If so, how long did it take him to reference the 2 from 8 season?

Saha…

Yes, selling Defoe with Ade off at the ACL would be pure genius. After all, Dempsey can fill in. Or perhaps we could recall Harry Kane.

Umm your point was that you can't buy strikers in Jan, my point is that you can.

Also you can loan players, i would think Wellbeck on loan for the season would be a deal all parties might be interested in for example.

And don't forget SA - the leagues there have finished for the season.

We haven't gone backwards since Harry left, we started going backwards at the start of this year. The term backwards might be wrong as we have a new manager, new manager and some new players so we need to give some more time for all that to click, so more like arrested development than going backwards.

PMSL!! you da man!!

Listen your tarnishing me with the AVB bashers again, i never said that AVB is doing a shit job!

We had all these discussions right from the start of AVB's appointment, and we agreed to disagree.

Ive also pointed out we have seen glimpses, of the football we were playing last year...but fucking hell ive seen alot of dire shite aswell!! tentative, slow, looking clueless in the final 3rd, but then again first 20 against the Arse was brilliant!!

Verts, Dembele, Loris and Ade quality signings, and you think Sig and Demps are top draw?? i beg to differ on that my man.

Come on man, you know as well as any of us, Levy didnt get AVB the players he wanted..Verts Ade Sig were signed before AVB put pen to paper, Moutinho, Willian etc were the usual bullshit we have endured over the the last few seasons!! remember Rossi, Aguero, Forlan £30-£50m bids end of transfer deadline day crap, never going to happen under Levy..and im afraid thats were we fail to break the top 3, and make no mistake we missed the boat on that one, we should of kicked on when we was in the CL and we didnt!!!!

we can agree to disagree all night fella, but i tell ya this come January TW, we will see if AVB brings in his own players, and gets backed by Levy

So to summarize im not bashing AVB, im saying this NEW PROJECT!! is bullshit, and quite frankly i feel sorry for the fella, as i do for Harry, cause Levy will do the same time and time again.

If AVB got us top 3 this season, CL football, do you honestly think if AVB said right lets kick on i need 2 top draw players £60m, and ill win ya the title next season, Levy will say sure no problem!! it wont happen fella.

Well Dawson is an absolute she in. Probably get about 8m. The only other players I can see Redknapp wanting and us possibly selling are Huddlestone and/or Livermore

We won't need to replace Dawson but we need a top top top quality central midfielder for top dollar to compliment Sandro Parker and Dembele

And one centre forward and one VDV

So Dawson Huddlestone and Livermore for 15m and we sign Moutinho, Willian and Leandro...

No, it wasn't. I said that it wasn't easy (actually, I said that it was, but I was being ironic). Yes, if you're willing to pay massively over the odds, as we did for Defoe and Keane, of course you can; it also helps if their clubs are on the verge of bankruptcy or don't want them any more (and are also anxious to recoup the absurd sum they paid). Given our success in persuading strikers to join us over the past six windows, I don't really hold out much hope of attracting anyone who's actually any good in January. Cashing in on Defoe while we can appeals, but I see neither footballing or fiscal sense in selling him and then splashing the cash on someone who's no better, or not even as good. That's quite apart from the fact that, whatever any of us thinks, AVB is a big fan.

You see Chelsea doing business with us?
