Does anyone believe that firstly Porto will sell for anything less than £32m and secondly Levy will spend that sort of money for a 26 year old? It aint happening guys, maybe for £23m like the summer but £32m is a vastly inflated price and I can't see Porto selling for anything less than his release clause.

I believe that if Moutinho has a release clause of £25.7m in his contract then he will be sold for no more than that amount.

I think you have mixed up your pounds and euros there buddy (y)

I've always thought it was 32m pounds but if it's in euros then great

Has anyone been watching him play this season? Is he looking like the answer to our problems or just a decent footballer with a big price tag?

Personally think he is the answer, not only is he a 'buzy fucker' that some around here love in CM but he's constantly looking for the ball, and sees the game, not just the first or second player that is in front of him when he happens to raise his head.

I've seen him a few times this season, and he's playing well, the man is pure class and without doubt my no.1 choice if we were to sign anyone. Not only is he world class player, i think it would be great for AVB to have a player that 100% believes in his management style.

It does seem he could become a key man to how we play if he were to sign.

Never happening though. We aren't breaking our transfer record by £8m in January. Shame.

This I don't believe... we made a lot of money on player sales in the summer and wages saved with loans... IF a deal can be struck with Porto and the 3rd party, then I am convinced that Levy will sanction the cash. The question is more do Porto want to sell and do they want to sell/deal with us!?!

There is then the question does Levy want to spend money on a different player, say Llorente or someone else who catches his eye. Might not succeed but we could miss out on Moutinho due to levy having his eyes elsewhere rather than the fee alone.

I think this is unlikely, alas, but we do have a shout.

I'm trying to go back and watch the Porto matches for this season right now. If you live in the sDtates you can use the ESPNgo app to watch from the start of the season. He's been pretty classy from what I have seen.

He was the one we needed this summer and we missed out, I don't believe for one minute Porto will sell in January

Why?

They are a selling club and they already have a replacement for him?

I think it might be a very tough one to do, but if it's true that he has a release clause that we can trigger then they may have little option if that's met.

Who is Porto's replacement player for Mourtinho? is he worth a punt.

Deal done according to Neil Eatson (formerly akqayid) on twitter.

Funny you should say that, my dear old grandmother also told me this was 100% done earlier today..

Since it's now been confirmed by two(!) very solid sources already I'm going to order my Moutinho shirt from the club shop tomorrow. Might even get a tattoo with the club crest and his name underneath it.

I'd be interested in seeing what the signings of Moutinho and Llorente would do for this club. I'd imagine they might help.
