Strange read that.

I've no axe to grind at all and I weirdly felt a bit sorry for him.
You can tell he genuinely though he was gonna get the England job and that when he didn't, it all turned to shit.
And then scrapping around looking for transfers, and getting nowhere fast.

It's all comparative of course cos we're talking about multi-millionaires but he just sounds lost, confused and a bit deluded.
It's like he's unaware that he's not relevant to modern football any more.
Yesterday's man, maybe. Perhaps time has caught up with him... finally. And that is in it's way, sad.

Before I read that article I thought "Here goes 'Arry again, talking about us to the press". After reading it I feel that he genuinely doesn't hold any grudges, and we ended it respectfully on both sides. If he is still feeling a little angry about it, he is covering it up which I appreciate. Honestly, I think he still feels he was a bit naive with the England scenario and it has cost him. Even with his experience in football he's still learning.

Re your last paragraph, how you came to that conclusion from that article beats the hell out of me. He's said absolutely nothing that we didn't already know and it all makes perfect sense. Making him out to be old and confused.... well... confuses me.

I just never got the feeling that Harry genuinely loved it at Spurs.

I personally think we've upgraded, and I hope AVB falls in love with us and doesn't go Mercenary if he becomes successful.

I don't begrudge 'Arry despite his part in our failure to place third and don't pretend to know the inner workings but, the fact he hired that mercenary agent after presiding over the collapse of form and having his head turned, well doesn't sound really that political at all. He had hands in every jar and unfortunately he couldn't find any cookies. Overestimated his worth, in short.

'Arry has left? Fuck it. This is what happens when you stay out of Spurs Chat. You miss some actual news.

Harry done well with us but he is very clever in what he puts out to the press , I don't believe half what he comes out with . Much prefer the way avb comes across . I hope today we give him a good reception and then loads of avb blue and white army

I wouldn't say it was clever, I would say its out dated old school thinking by a manager who fails to grasp that fans see everything and you cannot tell the fans what they saw.

That article is almost the same as the other one though. He doesn't really say anything different, or is that the point you are making?
i am saying it is a shame Arry let's his mouth run so much as it damages the good work he did at spurs. Fans are not stupid, he cannot tell us what he wants us to think.

Only if you let yourself be bothered by it and the spin that is often put on it by the paps.

I mean, it's not as if a few words actually change the fact that we finished 4th 5th 4th in the last three years.

Yes but the annoyance was it should have been 4th, 4th, 3rd and Arry never acknowledged an underperformance. That is what cost him his job

I know it does look quite trivial when we finished 4th, 5th and 4th and people are complaining that we should've finished one position higher in the last two seasons. But losing those positions cost the club a potential of what, £40m or so in Champions League revenue? As well as cementing the club as a regular Champions League participant, along with the increase in reputation around the world for potential signings we may be trying to bring in.

You can't look at our post-January form for the last two seasons and not say that the manager didn't cost us those Champions League places. We needed only to achieve a mediocre set of results to get Champions League qualification and we blew it two years in a row because the manager refused to rotate his players when necessary and insisted on playing a formation that didn't fit the players.

Four games in a row last season he played 4-4-2, we lost and the manager complained that we were too open. One time even claiming that he opted to play 4-4-2 because "people told him we play better" in that formation.

And finally, after spectacularly combusting in 3rd place and limping into 4th last season, he then tells us it was a magnificent season and it was effectively the best Spurs could have possibly hoped for.

I think he loved it at spurs. Why wouldn't he. He got a seriously talented squad, he got a great wage, and he had a really a successful period in the league over a number of seasons that we have not seen as fans for a very long time.

Harry unfortunately shot himself in the foot and had to go, but I think the interview is reflective of his thoughts on the club. I like Harry because he gave us the best seasons I have seen as a fan and he also delivered champions league football which is a rarity for those clubs outside the elite. Not only did he give us champions league but he gave us a place in the quarter finals and a thrilling ride to that quarter final.

I am eternally grateful to Harry. Yes he is a media whore, but he built on the platform that Jol gave us and handed over a decent squad for Andre to take us onto the next level.

I hope the fans are respectful to Harry today, but once the whistle goes, it is all about AVB.

In all honesty why shouldn't AVB move on if he is successful - the club will sack him quick enough if he isn't successful. Clubs have the same level of sentimentality as FTSE 100 companies, and I am glad of that because look at the likes of Crystal Palace and Goldberg (?) when a fan runs the club.

He did a good job at Spurs. One of our most successfull managers. However this article clearly reveals the character of the man. Of course he knows why he got sacked. And then going on about how he's been done so much wrong in his lifetime but he he doesn't hold grudges. He forgives and forgets. Me thjnks not.

A capable man no doubt but not to be trusted.
