I thought yesterday was a success; we unloaded players we rarely, if ever, use. So our match day squad isn't any lighter.

I am not suggesting that it wouldn't be prudent to bring in a striker/winger but if we are going to splurge north of £10m I'd prefer it to be the summer... near the start of it though ;-)

I do get very frustrated when fellow Spurs fans berate Levy, as he has obviously done a brilliant job. The reason we think he is being a tight arse now is because he has helped raise our expectations from the shite of yesteryear! My major grievance is the "levy has gone back on his promise to AVB' lark.

How THE FUCK do we know what promises were made? We don't. We know shit from toffee, that's why our teeth are brown.

How THE FUCK do we know if AVB didn't say 'If you can get Leandro that would be great, otherwise don't panic'. We don't. We know shit from putty, that's why our windows stink.

I love you all very much.

WHY do people get excited when Spurs get players off the wage bill.............whats wrong with you people, do you save money when Jenas goes or Cudicini or Gomes...........NOPE

Levy saves money that he doesnt invest.....yesterday was an utter disaster we are now much weaker than before

We have lost Falque, Sandro and Townsend now for the rest of the season and they are all players we used.....and brought in Holtby......we stilll have to rely on Defoe who hasnt scored in ages and Adebayor who doesnt care.....Arsenal have signed a solid left back and have a fully fit squad now.......you seriously think we will get 4th

Did we even really try and buy Damiao? Would seem pointless bidding a reported £13m on the last day of the window, knowing that they had stubbornly refused to accept less than their asking price over several windows and that the deal was complicated with third party ownership.
Would have liked to see us going for someone who could improve the team short term, like Diego Milito, who is 33 but still a good player, to give us that push to stay ahead of the chasing teams and qualify for the CL. Then we could still go after our top targets in the summer.
Now we have to hope that Adebayor returns a different player and JD comes out of goal scoring retirement. Not particularly optimistic on either.

Isn't all this disappointment just a result of the extremely hyped deadline day? Hadn't it been such a big deal and if it wasn't for all the "Levy Time"-talk I don't think we'd be this down today.

Looking at our rivals for 4th and what they've gotten this January it's not very impressive.

Arsenal bought a cover for an injured left back.
Everton got who?
Liverpool got Sturridge

I consider Chelsea pretty much nailed on for 3rd and they have strengthened with Ba, that's for sure.

We bought a potentially world class creative, flexible and exciting midfielder, German international and U21 Captain. Out of the teams we are competing with - Pool, Everton and Arsenal, we've strengthened the most IMHO.

THIS. January TW is mainly for relegation threatened teams. The top half rarely buy in January. No surprise that QPR, Newcastle, West Ham et al were the busiest.

I believed in the LD hype for a short while last night. Got excited, got disappointed but a good nights sleep brings with it perspective. We are a long term project and upwards of £19million on one player is a risk too far. We move on. In AVB I trust. COYS!

Oh yeh thanks JJ.....for wasting a few hours of my life by giving everyone on here false hope with your message about things moving, I could have told you it would be a quiet window based on the fact that Levy doesnt like to spend....if you was so sure it would be quiet what was with the messages last night (NO CLUE).......I havent seen anything from this guy that shows me he is ITK.....people still listen to him based on the whole Ryan Nelson signing....perfectic......

The best ITK hasnt come from him....it has come from randoms who happen to come across ITK by chance......the doctor on the Gylfi signing who broke it first and the guy that saw Lewis Holtby on a plane

Ive learnt that with my new digging technique, the info is not as reliable as I'd hoped.

Heres to taking a back seat from now on

For the record though......There was an awful lot of people with a very high standing in the game ready to go with the story "Leandro Done"

Something mustve happened

Massive thanks to A&C, TSH, Chris, rob and all the other mods for doing a great job not only yesterday but throughout the window!!! Didn't contribute as much as I'd like but you should all be pleased to hear you've kept me entertained for the last 31 days!! Shame about leandro but as others have mentioned jj did say it would be quiet and we haven't really weakened the match day squad too much! Plus we have finally managed to get jenas off the wage bill!!!

Townsend and Falque need regular football and Holtby moved Dempsey and Siggy down the pecking order.

My question is where does this leave us when Adebayor comes back? Do we revert back to 4-4-2 or do we switch to the 4-3-3?

Can we play Holtby and Dembele as a tandem in the middle?

Whats done is done.

But I would hope that our club and scouting system get round the table and start to identify a number of striker targets for next season. We simply cant go from transfer windows to transfer window signing class all over the park except upfront. And lets make them realistic. IMO I do wonder how serious these last minute Aguero, Moutinho and the 'cardboard cut out' that is LD are.

The striker situation has let us down yet again - you cant get away from that.

Lets get behind Ade and hope for our sakes he performs to a good standard.

Getting Jenas and Gomes off the wage will = SUCCESS
Loaning younger players to get experience = SUCCESS

Not signing a striker..............potential disaster with knock on effects. We are going to rely on a striker with an injury who has not scored in about 9 games and another who is currently away and quite frankly looks uninterested this season. Dempsey is not an out and out striker

If we miss out on 4th because we don't score enough goals for the rest of the season, and then Bale leaves viting that he has to move to play CL football.............will you still look back on yesterday as a success? Cos i sure as hell won't

We are counting on Ade coming back in the form we saw last year..............does anyone think he will?

There are positives. I'm happy.

* Holtby is class. I'm not sure if people understand his quality. Ignore the 1.5million price tag. He will make a difference and IS a PROPER number 10.

* Ade will be back soon and even when off form, does change the dynamic of the team. He's still better than the large majority of players we were linked with. There were no Guarantees that Leandro would be able to convert his form to the EPL.

* We all get to drool over Pritchard on loan. Come on lad, be our great white hope!

* Jenas has gone forever.

* Contrary to what people say we DO have wing cover in Bentley (this one is a joke)

But we can't have 2 strikers for 1 spot. You can only play 1 goalie, but every squad has 3- and goalies are far less likely to pick up injuries/suspensions than any outfield player.

I have been lurking for a about 5 years, finally joined a few windoows back. And I have to say yesterdays Window was the funniest I have witnessed. Some of you really need to see someone. The Mood Swings, the downers, the ones on Suicide watch. Pure Gold!
We can argue til the cows come home, What happened, Happened (Or didn't happen in last nights case) I would of liked a new Striker last night, But I have no idea on how to run a premiership club, so i'l leave it to the guy who obviously does. If it wasn't for Levy in my opinion we would of been in a lot of trouble. Don't forget the last 2 Chairmen.

Fuck this shit!!!

We can still do this people. We have a world class manager who the players seem to respect and want to play for. Lets get behind the team more than ever. Holtby can make the difference, Parker and moussa in behind.

Lets get behind Ade, we know what he can do when he wants to. 4th is still ours to lose....Chelsea are by no means a cert for 3rd (I'd have said they were had they not let a 2 goal lead slip again!). 2 champs league places up for grabs with 4 clubs competing. We have been here before and came through on 2 occasions, we can do it again!

Must dig out my Burkina Faso shirt for Sunday though.....

Fuck Levytime up it's fucking stupid arse. Yet again, the squad is a bit short heading into a crucial point in the season, if we falter as per usual and fluff the CL again then maybe you'll all stop blaming the managers for once. Hands are tied, profit is King.

Wheel out the stadium excuse etc. Sick of this, we obviously need players and obviously made moves so how we've seemingly fucked it up yet again is diabolical.

Yuck yuck yuck. Fingers crossed for the rest of the season.

Still no fucking striker.

Think you are taking this a little too seriously. A&C does his best to warn everything needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. If you doubt JJ's authenticity then don't listen to what he has to say. But don't vent at someone others like to hear from.

Venting your frustration at JJ a fellow poster and member is not the answer. Are we disappointed? yes. Is that JJ's fault? No.....well unless his is levy and then it is!!
