Ibrahimovich.

Good player, not a great on. Never seen him do much against English teams in the CL. Scored lots of goals against crap opposition.

Gerrard.

Meh. Overrated athlete with poor footballing skills and brain.

Ibra - I've always maintained he is a player capable of scoring great goals rather than being a great player.

I disagree on both fronts! Ibra has one of the best cvs going with winners medals coming out of his arse. Not sure why doing it against English teams in the CL is the yard stick, but even this old "commentators favourite" line has been disproved (didn't he score both goals which knocked out arsenal for Barca?)

Gerrard at this best had it all. Granted he may not have the footballing ability of some of the best but his determination makes up for it. His best is behind him now though ofcourse.

I don't find "overrated" applies to many of the world class players because they are obviously rated for a reason by a lot of people. I think it applies to the 2nd tier of players.

If I was going to add a player to the list though I would add Dani Alves.

Ibra too, me and dad watched him at ...2006 world cup possibly? It was one of the major tourneys and he was a donkey. Fair play to him since then, joined some of the biggest clubs going and has won a lot. But he is nowhere near world class.

Aguero is far from world class but has the potential to reach it still, can still see Madrid making him their no.1 target this summer...

Ibra has world class talent. Not sure if he's world class though?

Also - the king of all wankers - JT. Mainly just the Ingerlish press I admit but he's a fucking donkey. For all the shit Daws gets on here from the likes of BC, he's miles better as a footballer. JT gets his fat head in the way very well. Usually when making up for a clusterfuck of his own making.

Also - Renia. Very good keeper but always, even during his bestest keeper in the world days, dropped at 2 or 3 major bollocks a season. Quite often in big games. Good shot-stopper but not the best.

So yeah, a very good keeper but got his nuts hugged way too much.

Ibra, when he's good he's very very good but too often he's not even average.
The press about David Beckham I find really embarrassing he was a top player but apparently today there was a headline that he's in the last 8 of the CL that bit is factually correct but then again you could say the same for the kit man.

Fits in nicely with a conversation i had with my brother during the madrid man u game, got to throw arbeloa in the hat, was awful at liverpool, somehow got a move to madrid and in my view an awful player....amazing how some mediocre players play at the highest level.

We also agreed we both hate sergio ramos....just seems to be there to annoy the opposition, but he is a winner and usually comes good in the big games

Zlatan is an exceptional footballer, he's the most complete striker in the world and he's definitely world class IMO. Those that say he isn't don't watch him enough in league matches, the impact he has on the team is huge.

Very few players can be a talisman for numerous teams, not crumble under the pressure and still be consistent.

He scores against crap opposition - so what, can you name any good striker that doesn't score against crap opposition?

If he's overrated then what is RVP (and others)?

Wayne Rooney. He's a very good player, but I've never rated him as one of the top ten players in the world so overrated for me.

Yep, agree with all this. A certain Mr Berbatov has a similar reputation for being a flat track bully too.
