Willing to share that account?

Just the usual that you would expect of a young footballer in a club. Remember my mate telling me he'd seen Bale in a club in Cardiff, and that at the time he was still 'the young shy kid from Cardiff' or whatever. He also said to me something along the lines of 'I'm sure you said he doesn't drink? Well he was battered!' He said he was just being a bit of an arrogant wotsit etc

I think no matter how hopeful we might have been, the majority would have been sad but have accepted a move to Madrid with the team that AVB/Baldini are building. And we would have wished him well. He make himself a "villain" because he's just not the "good guy" we all thought.

Rather than focus on him, it makes me appreciate somebody like Dawson a whole lot more.

Absolutely this!! (y)

But Dawson has never been courted by Real Madrid...so who knows how he'd behave.

The real role models of this window have been Baines and Fellaini. Bids from United and yet not a peep from those two.

Remember the ITK about AVB wanting to move on even if Bale was willing to stay? Well, if he is privy to behaviour such as this on a regular occurrence - then, that contentious ITK info might have a lot of credence.

I'm willing to bet that GBs agent is exerting pressure on the deal to move through. I think Levy is more likely to sell (judging by recent similarities) if the player goes on strike. This could even get Real a slightly improved deal than if Bale is willing to stay, train and prepare for the season ahead. Real and GBs agent have this in their minds by instructing the player not to go back into training to mess with advanced negotiations.

Even so, I'm sure AVB would have rung him up shortly after is was apparent he did not turn up to training as scheduled. So it is still his choice, and he knows the position.

I can see why avb is pissed off re Townsend. He will be backup for us, but now he has got in the squad he will be demanding first team footy to make the World Cup. We may fucking lose him now if we seal lamela.

Love Dawson but if you think for one minute that if he was actually on Bale's skill level and Madrid came in to him, that Dawson wouldn't want to leave?!?

I think there is room for him, Lennon, Holtby and Lamela. And if there is a place for him in that rotation he will stay. WHy? Because two performances with us got him a call up. He's going to get noticed more here and he's got a team that can make him look good too.

I suddenly think the rumors about being Siggy being shifted and us ending our relationship with Barnett might have some strong credibility and I can't see him being with us come the 3rd.

The Mirror are just taking the piss now :playful:

Wow, Spurs fans, you really don't seem too happy about this situation with Gareth Bale. Phone our helpline @mirrorfootball where Spurs fans are letting it all out.
Let us know what you think on Twitter, but no swearing.

Loads of opinion flying in from Spurs fans now, feels a bit different to an hour ago when I was being berated for talking about a pink cap. I can only apologise! But I won't.
Anyway, more reaction from what seems like an angry bunch of fans:

Won't someone please think of the endorsements!!

Unfortunately sounds like we need to file him under Berbatov, D subsection Modric, L. Shame but I guess we've realised for a long time that good men in footy are rarer than rocking horse shit, so even if Bale's not a total arse we know Barnett is. Luckily we have a few on our little island of decency.

And I'm sure EA Sports will happily reprint all those covers with 'B$L£' (I went there ) in a Madrid shirt opposite Messi - they'll be loving that. Or just release an insert for the pre-teen Plasticos.

Maybe they don't want to work with Moyes again

Dawson has shown nothing that would make me think that he would behave the same. When he was threatend to be moved on, he didn't cry about it, he just got on with it.

The guy has a respect for Spurs. Maybe he was just brought up differently, who knows?

He would. But he wouldn't be a helmet about it.

Bale is only being a helmet because Levy is trying to suck as much cash out of RM as possible - see Modic/Berbatov.

I would rather have a few extra million and Bale looking like a twat, than less money and we all start showing our man love for him.

Well he's then being a helmet because Real Madrid thought their shit didn't stink and tried to sell his shirt before he was their player and set up scaffolding to introduce him before agreeing a fee.

So he should be mad at them and not us. :D

But damn straight on your second line

And Bale tried to suck as much cash out of Levy by signing that new contract last year. What the hell did he think was gonna happen? Does he not know Levy or something?

Why not hand in a transfer request then if he wanted to grease the wheels?

It has nothing to do with his bringing up,lol. Bale is an elite footballer and Dawson is just a good one.

NB: common denominator
