Gotta be honest this high line scares the shit outta me, if we can correct that and introduce Eriksson i think we will do well, also we could do with a couple quality full backs...Feel sorry for Soldado he's looked to isolated in the first 3 games, might be worth switching back to 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1, new players need time to gel, but we lack pace and creativity also width at the moment in a 4-3-3, my onion for what its worth :)

Fuck me. The posts in this thread are ridiculous. I am aged 36 years young and have seen some shite in my time watching spurs but this has to be the least worried I have ever been after a defeat to that lot.

Our future is soooo bright it's almost Lilly white. New signings providing us with squad depth. Only 3 games in we need to give this new lot time to settle. Played away at one of the toughest pl grounds and dominate possession. People giving soldado shit for no reason. He has only played 4 games in this team ffs. Give them a chance, this goons te have played together for at least one season if not more and they hardly wiped the floor with us did they???

Well the teams that play in the CL on Wednesday more often than not play on Saturday and sometimes have '12.45 kick off so not having that excuse really.

That's the thing though, very rarely do the teams that are in the Champions League in England play on a Saturday Due to TV etc.
And then they only play on 1 Wednesday in 2 in the Champ's League.

Probably about 1 in 3 or 4 games will be less than 72 hours, where as pretty much all Europa league games are less than 72 hours.

Like today for example Arsenal had over 4 full days to recover and we had 66 hours. (not an excuse for us really as barely any starters played midweek)

when we play with a creative midfielder and a decent winger on the left, ie lamela, (dont think chadli is so good tbh) then we stop looking like stoke or sunderland.

Arsenal played with no defensive midfielders and we could hardly create a chance at the end of the day.

I think once the international break is done and everyone is settled avb needs to take the shackles off this team. Not ideal to go into the break without scoring a goal from open play in 3 games.

If we're considering selling Lennon we are mental. We missed his pace today, I cannot believe how slow we looked. It has been our hallmark the last 5 seasons.

Not going to comment on Chadli...

Very true ! However must say, don't think we played that badly today ,considering the new players made up nearly half our team . Just such a shame it was our old guard that really let us down today .
I realise many fans do have a sometimes blind allegiance to Dawson , Walker and Rose .and due respects to your opinions....but l think enough is enough !!
Dawson for all is huff and puff and die for the cause , will never be a world class centre half, and to beat top teams this is a must . While Walker and Rose are far too wasteful considering the amount of possession they have of the ball . Prime example is their struggle time and time again, to produce a cross that beats the first man, let alone find a team mate .

We haven't created anything. Paulinho, Dembele and Capoue were absolutely useless going forward. Chadli you can see he has it, but has to settle and learn.
I really hope Holtby and Eriksen can make a difference.

Alltight, i have calmed down now and no longer as pissed off.

3 "enforcers" in midfield is not the way forward. We need to revert back to a 4-2-3-1 with sandro/capoue and dembele/paulinho as our holding to midfielders with holtby/eriksen in the hole for added creativity.

Lamela must start, and we need a premium lwf with chadli as backup. Our rb and lb have a terrible end end product, and they need to be drilled hard at training.

Soldado

New lfw - eriksen - lamela

Paulinho - sandro

Rose - verts - kaboul - walker

Lloris

This is the way forward, and Daws not good enough. Hopefully our fullbacks improve their end product, they are still young so wont slate em to much.

Agree with all of this but I think Lennon still provides an excellent option on the outside of a opposition full back. Everybody else seems to want to cut in so I would have him in my 11.

Just watched the game after finishing work. Feel shit. Really uninspiring. How we can pass the ball to our only striker I'll ever know.

Worst thing is that they beat us at our own game with player supposedly worse for the system. They were more energetic, bullied us off the ball and actually crested chances. Can't tell you how many times I screamed at the tv when Dembele, Chadli and Walker managed to fudge an attack.

Really disappointed but it's a long season and we are building a good team. can't remember the last time I felt this bad after a defeat TBH.

Several times I was screaming at the TV because of him. It's just like last season. Has the pace to burn off most when defending but instead tries to out muscle them and gives away a free kick. In attack he could have tried to play the early ball but didn't even try. He might be fast and strong but he has the football intelligence and vision of a coma patient.

Come on now,
That's not fair to coma patients. :cautious:

some observations from today's game:

-lack of creativity- in the midfield and final 1/3. But this will not be cured by just inserting a 'creative player' though it will help. Our midfield and forward, save Soldado, not only do not know or employ intelligent movement they seem to not be 'working' for one another to get into space. If you watched all of our games this year save for the 2nd tiblisi game there was not 1 pass that you could not have predicted or surprised you. And if it didn't surprise us then we can be sure it didn't surprise Wenger or his very experienced team.

-Fullbacks - Will watch the goal again but I feel that it was walcott's intelligent movement that should be credited moreso than any mistake by Rose. He was not that bad today imho. Walker is another story. He is one of the least intelligent footballers I have ever seen and couple that with his glaring lack of technical ability he will continue to be detrimental to our team. His positional sense is poor and his effort to track back into position wen the ball is 'coming at us' is quite frustrating. He does bust it when it is his man dribbling down his wing but that is the only thing that settles your CBs nerves. He was bailed out 1 time by a poor pass from rosicky when cathorla was to his outside and behind him. Couple this with his stupid fouls, eg the one on ramsey when he had him beat to the ball with pace and positional yet still tugged his shirt and fouled him. And for those that think he will get better with 'maturity' give me a break. He has played at this level for 4 years and not one part of his game has improved. He just may be a stupid player with immense athletic ability for years to come.

-Hugo - tons of man-love for this guy. Think Brad can still do a job as he is a fine shot stopper I feel he should be 3rd and if he were in we would have lost by 5. Hugo is awesome! I feel so assured when I see balls over the top of our high line, even with daws in.

- CBs - Verts was ok but had a few errors. Don't know if that was because he is unsure with rose on his side or if it was the fear of walcott's pace. Dawson who I love just does not cut it and truthfully has always been a PK-red card-dangerous foul waiting to happen. He lacks athletic, technical, and tactical ability. He is 30 this will not improve. Love his commitment hate his execution. There is a reason that he is ALWAYS open to receive a pass. Defences have funnelled the ball his way so that he hits one of those stupid, inaccurate, possession-losing diagonal balls...or dribbles up into the defense like he did today and almost cost us a goal.

-wings - need to realize there are others on the team and start to work to create for them. If they continue to be 1 dimensional we will continue to have difficulty scoring in open play. Lamela will help but won't cure this problem completely.

-Mids - sad for capoue...thought it was pretty dirty play as well. Cathorla knew what he was doing. I am not saying he meant to hurt him but he def meant to 'slow' him up with the clumsy challenge. Unlucky to get his ankle caught. Dembele does not like to play with his back to the goal. It is clear he is uncomfortable in that position so he should be dropped deeper. Sandro was the best of them all today in his cameo. Brought the 'derby' energy. I was hoping for his introduction before Capoue got hurt. Paulinho needs to get used to the speed of the PL. He has been receiving the ball without a sense of urgency needed and thus has been conceding possession. And today the arse were flying to the ball.

-the arse - they didnt have mourinho's double-decker out today but they definitely had a sizeable people carrier out there...and commitment and worked for one another. fair play to the ****s. I think wenger had a very good tactical setup today. When we got the ball they alway had like 7 guys around the 'd'. Well, what else would you expect to happen to a team that lack a final ball with a striker that loves through-balls? And boy is their counter good.

We will get better just like last year and we will eat up the league. COYS!

*oops spelled cazorla like it's pronounced

We bossed the games possession wise and had the spastics by the neck in the end. I always thought the game came 3-4 weeks too early. Let the faggots celebrate like they've actually won something. I know we will spank the twats at the Lane.

Anyone who is feeling down, and lets be honest we all will when losing to the scum, needs to read Mickey Hazard's comments on Twitter. True Tottenham legend !!
