I really hope we don't play Brad. It's not that he's a bad keeper - he is just so radically different from Hugo that it fucks with the whole back line.

I think we will go with pretty much the A squad for the home game and then send a much weaker team away.

This is a perfect chance to give Lamela a bit of time on the pitch against limited opposition to let him get used to his new surroundings. Something like:

IMO AVB will field a strong side as :
1. AVB will want to see Lamela, Eriksen, Soldado and the other players starting to play together, starting with what shouuld be a relatively straight forward match (even though IMO a team, of some fringe players and youth such as Fryers and Kane could probably be enough to win).
2. The group has all long distance away games - so AVB will want to ensure we win all the home games and pick up whatever points e can away - possibly resting some of the 'first' team away rather than at home.
3. He's a pretty conservative guy in terms of selection. Remember after a 5-0 away win we fielded this in the home leg which was pretty much a dead rubber before it started :
Friedel, Naughton, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Walker, Sigurdsson, Sandro, Carroll, Holtby, Townsend, Defoe, Fryers (sub), Dembélé (sub), Kane (sub)
Unused subs: Paulinho, Capoue, Lloris, Soldado

I might be tempted to rest Rose (I prefer him fit fir PL games), Dembele (rumoured not to be fully fit) and give games to those who need to get match fit after injury - Holtby, Sandro and Kaboul. I'm assuming Chirches work permit has still not arrived and Adebayor still catching up on training.

I think that should do and it rotates most of the squad. Chadli and Lamela could easily go anywhere in the attacking midfield and Lennon could go on either side. The three attacking midfielders could also try switching positions during a game.

I'd also have Kane on the bench to come on if things are going well to get him some game time. Other than that maybe add another professional (not first teamer) on the bench (as well as the rest of the bench being made up with players that played against Norwich.

Nope, I just want to see if he's actually got potential. I also think that we can afford to play people like him against these teams.

Why not? He is more than good enough to play him against Tromso, and a good performance could put him in the shop window.

Likewise Kane and Fryers as England U21 interntionals with should be a class above anything Tromso have. Come to that the likes of Stewart, Coulthirst, Fredericks or McEvoy should be able to cope, and would benefit from the experience. We need to win these sort of games, but they should also be part of our strategy for developing youth.

Agree first teamers take priority, but there is no need to start anyone who started against Norwich.
