I've just noticed that you guys in the UK get a grand total of 2 televised matches on the final day! I thought the whole reason of playing all the matches on a sunday was to avoid saturday's 3pm blackout. Why can't they make full use of it????

Does anyone understand why Sky Sports has such poor EPL coverage. I understand the 3pm blackout, but why do they not show those matches the next day and across the rest of the week?

Because there will be numerous highlights, and other games being played.
If you wanted all the games from today to be played it would take 24 hours if you also wanted analysis.
They would have to have one channel dedicated to football.

Even with the highlights, I am surprised they don't at least the game of the day or something. What about Derby's? Do they ever repeat them? Out here in Australia, we get most of the game repeated, most twice, during the week plus we get the highlights shows. Maybe we have nothing better to show, and sky do, but I do feel a little sorry for subscribers in UK who may only subscribe for the football.

They would have to have one channel dedicated to football.

Well, in a country such as England, I am actually shocked (now that you mention it) that they don't have one! I had heard about plans for the Premier League to introduce their own 24 hour channel, rumoured to be named "Premier League TV", but would think it was more likely for Sky to beat them to it and introduce one themselves.

A mix of Soccer Saturday, Football first, Sunday Suppliment and Goals on Sunday works for me.

Game of the day is the full 90 mins and all other games show 60 minutes highlights on the same day. Why do they need to be repeated when nearly all of us have the record function.

We do have a 24 hour football channel, it's called Sky Sports News! Don't forget we also have loads of other channels showing football including domestic and European cups and this year BT sport show a bunch of Premier League games too.

Saying all that, we have a 24 hour Formula 1 channel so it is odd that Sky have never started a proper dedicated channel.

Pisses me off when they announce the game of the day and tell you the score beforehand

Yeah, that really is quite ridiculous, a 24 hour F1 channel, but not one for the England's big game.

Can't watch Sunday supplement, those twats wind me up. They just talk about the same shite they write, and just slap one another on the back. The other coverage is great, you can see every pl goal within a few hours.

They are bound by the terms of the contract, also how many fans would stop going to games if they could watch the games in full the next day/week?

No such restrictions abroad.

This is it. They are not allowed to show all the games live and simply cannot justify showing each match in its entirety due to how few would watch them all.

Football First is the best thing that ever happened to football highlights. It's a Godsend, just annoying that you can;t get it on Sky Go.

because the goals/highlights are sold separately now days. they have to wait for a certain time period before they can play the goals.
