Tongue in cheek in so far as I know its not going to happen. It would be the best way to improve the match day atmosphere though.

How do you solve the problem of an aging set of season ticket holders? I assume you arent going to give yours up until you cant physically get there anymore?

Not at all, i would be lost without it and i still sing at my age. The problem is not down to older guys going to games, a lot of it is down to those who " i want it and i want it now" sign of the times and the age we live in.

But people complain that about the atmosphere and point to clubs like Dortmund who have a stand bouncing in unison and waving banners/flags blah blah. Can you see a stadium filled predominantly of 50/60 year old fellas ever doing that? Seriously?

Realistically lifelong season tickets are going to create that sort of issue.

Obviously football is a game for every age and stadiums have always had the life long guys turning up, but its going to be a bigger problem in the future as people hold onto a season ticket for 20-30+ years.

I can not see the sense in compering the English atmosphere to that in Germany or anywhere else, i have travelled with Spurs in Europe during the 70's, 80's and its always been the same.

English fans very rarely get up for games like the Germans, Dutch etc. Its the way it is.

I'm still waiting for my season ticket and hope I get a chance when we finally build the new stadium and I'm almost 46 so I hope to keep it until I pass on to the other side.

Do we want to be the team that plays entertaining football for the neutral and lose games 4-3, or do we want to be the team that is more successful and edges games 1-0?

United have played average football for the last 10-15 years yet look at the amount they've won. Give me 1-0's and success any day.

If you genuinely believe United have played average football for the last 15 years, then I am flabbergasted.

My comment wasn't a swipe at older supporters, I know they have a singsong .I'm glad we appeal to all ages, Young people make more noise than the old...Fact. It wasn't my info, but it made me think a bit.

Older fans may contribute to the lack of atmosphere, but more importantly these are not the fans that are creating a negative, poisonous, detrimental atmosphere. And it those that are the real problem. The main issue for me are the streams of abuse, moaning and criticism.

Well I was there when we played them last season and they didn't sing ANY songs. Literally none. I think they sang once towards the end when they pulled one back and got the sarcastic cheers.

I think you are getting all the "Oh When The..." confused my friend. The Saints fans sang their 'saints' version a hell of a lot
I pay my money... Fuck off.

I think some here missed the fact that you are saying that ironically.
