The fans who didn't agree with AVB's methods or have been dismayed by the constant dross produced by players such as Dawson, Naughton, Defoe, Dembele etc have well within their rights criticised the team and discussed our failings and possible ways to improve it. May I add, the majority of these fans watch every game and discuss each match as it happens.

Whereas the pro AVB fans have decided to bitch about their fellow fans instead of discussing the things that are glaringly wrong with the club at the moment.

Go figure ...

I hear this all the time but Im not in that situation. I can only comment on our situation and it stinks and it's holding the club back. Could you imagine the effect it would have if we all pulled in the same direction?
I can understand your frustration but I really can't see how a percentage of fans ranting on t'interweb and booing at games are going to influence the powers that be

makes me laugh how people blame a formation for our woes, talk about clutching at straws. even then the terrible 442 had us 1-0 up and it was only when we changed to everyone's favourite 451/4231/4411/whatever you want to call it that conceded twice and lost.

Haha it's classic, I don't think the Poster you are responding to even realised we had taken one of the 2 off when we were 1-0 up.

they only beat us 3-0 in the League because the last 2 goals were on the counter. this time we take the lead and then sit back on it and concede 2 goals

Well managed teams don't lose 3-0 to West Ham at home. We were supposed to be title contenders!

This is the most funny part about everyone screaming about how bad it was that we reverted to 4-4-2.

Nothing tonight showed that AVB should have stayed.

It does show that 4-4-2 with two wingers and two strikers doesn't work in the modern game. If that's Sherwood's plan then we need a proper manager quickly.

If he was just trying it today then fair enough. But I think it was what a lot of us feared he might do so it is a bit worrying.

Tonight was properly ridiculous. It doesn't vindicate AVB's fans and it doesn't vindicate his detractors. It was just fucking ridiculous.

West Ham beat us 3-0 last time did they? Sorry, peeps that won't sodding well wash!

The assertion was always that the bad results were AVB's fault ONLY.

OK. He's gone. Finito. Done with. So what's the excuse this time?

Maybe we have a load of payers who need to bed in? Nope - that didn't excuse AVB.

Maybe it's that high line that leaves us exposed at the back. Why did we lose again tonight? Wasn't it our defence?

Or perhaps we've got injuries? Such a shame that all out injuries happened since Monday. Wait a moment!

Or the line striker? Yeah we scored a shedload tonight, didn't we?

Now, the haters have got everything they wanted. Having turned the fanbase into a seething cesspool of negativity, disunity and resentment, this is the fucking result!

Excellent work! You just be really fucking proud!

We've done these cliches to death. The fact is whether it's the internet, at the game, in the pub, between the bedsheets, the negativity transpires throughout the club. If you genuinely think it has little or no effect then there's simply no point discussing this.

Bull.

That was miles better than anything I've seen this season.

Yes we lost and Deadwood isn't the man. Poor substitutions tonight.

But those who are saying that AVB shouldn't of been sacked and we would somehow would of won tonight with him in charge new their head testing.

AVB has set us back 5 years.

Deadwood out!

Capello or Benitez in now please.

What a fucking nob.

I try not to post on this site but really cannot help it with some of the shit being posted!!!!!

The football we played was an absolute shambles. Let me remind you. 3-0 against West Ham, 5-0 against Liverpool, 6-0 against Man City. Struggled to wins against Fulham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace to name a few.

The football was shocking last year, only rescued by Bale.

We were going nowhere this season under AVB and things were getting worse. You sound like you would have been happy to let Rome burn.

Do you think that to play attacking football we have to play open football and a 4-4-2.

Change was needed before it was too late.

Yeah, but there's no point even bothering to appoint a new manager if we're never going to give them time to develop with us. If we keep hiring and firing we'll go backwards. I think that's where the OP comes from, he feels that all this is a step backwards. It's early to say that, but there are some worrying signs and we don't have the best of form when it comes to giving a new manager time to develop.

We're down to 5th choice players and youth prospects in defense, and they targeted the 6'0 central defender who is a liability in the air. Nothing tactical about that.

That said, hopefully in the future Sherwood doesn't let our retarded fans pick the fucking team. Vintage Redknapp performance, really. 45 minutes of running around slamming balls into the box like a herd of headless chickens and shipping a few late goals to a volleyball team.

I would argue that it was entirely tactical.

Whilst there was still a chance of having a season. The players looked lost. Things did not look to be improving!!!

There was a rot in our club and that rot was AVB. What should we have done, let him have another 6 games to blame the fans, the players, the pitch, the ref, the board. His job was to coach this group of players and he couldn't fucking do it.

Seriously did you expect to see a massive change overnight?

For a start many of the payers are completely out of form and struggling with confidence, a couple of absolute drubbings tends to do that. Whether we will be better off without AVB only time will tell, but even if we had won tonight things were never going to dramatically improve overnight.

I'm not a fan of the way of playing, but how? People seem to be lazily trotting out 'its 4-4-2's fault' and using pre-formed arguments to bash Sherwood to my eyes.

We started brightly, it got scrappy. It wasn't great but could have been a hell of a lot worse. Pathetic defending cost us. What formation would have meant a patched up defence defend long punts up field properly?

The manager changed, the players stayed the same. Sadly you can't clear out an entire squad (Well, a decent handful at least).

He had 18 months and tbh I didn't see improvement. The football has been poor for 18 months. There were no signs!!! Take Bale out of last seasons team and you get the dross we were witnessing!!!
