It's a wrench loosing Sandro, if true. Hands down my favourite character at Spurs.

But we need to get back more expansive football, and 2 years on we still cannot replace Modric.

Without that kind of genius - we need to rebuild a midfield where all take greater responsibility for creating play.

Schneiderlin is a big step towards that, whilst being better defensively. So we can partner him an attacking or defensive partner as required.

So in the context of 4 or 5 CMs - it's a straight choice between Sandro or Capoue.

Hard choice, I'd prefer Sandro but not much in it given injuries (and if Sandro wants out and won't re-sign).

He is my dad after all :(

In terms of spurs players I look at him as a cross between Carrick and Parker. That is a very good thing. He will win the ball and get it forward to the likes of Eriksen and Lamela quickly

Not the same type of player though, so don't expect him to be anything like Modric really mate.

But an excellent defensive midfielder who can pass quickly and effectively, so certainly can provide a bit of tick and get us moving forward quickly.

This is exactly what I meant to say with the Modric comparison mate :)

Since we sold Modric, we have really missed having someone in midfield who can move the ball quickly and get us attacking faster.

With Davies and Schneiderlin on board, we won't be crapping our pants when the big boys come to play anymore. We may not win, but we'll compete. I can't wait for that game against Liverpool.

Loved that, thanks. Very unusual to see a video about a defensive player actually highlighting those attributes, usually it's all about skill on the ball and the goals. Even though any highlight reel will obviously make a player seem better than he actually is, what's confirmed is what an assured, classy, no nonsense kind of player he is.

A midfield pairing of Capoue and Schneiderlin would do well. They would win a lot of balls back and get the ball forward quickly to the more attacking players, while giving them the freedom to be creative. With those two behind them, I could see Eriksen and Lamela both having great seasons.

This is spot on, totally the way I see it.

Don't get these new found obsession with Capoue. Almost as slow as Huddlestone with about a tenth of the ability. Just because he's a 'defensive midfielder' doesn't make him good.We need at least one midfield player who can execute a quick turnover because faced with a set up opposition as last year proved our attacking players don't have the guile to unpick the lock. Don't know enough about Schneiderlin to say he's def it but I know none of the current crop can do it.

Bit harsh, I'd say a 7th say at least.
