Should we keep singing Sol Campbell's song?

Singing about who we hate is a bit cringeworthy. Better to sing about who we love. If that makes me a hippy, then peace maaaaaaan.

Fair enough, don't sing it......but a thread on telling us not to sing it is 'cringeworthy'..imo.......maybe you can have a word with a steward next time its ringing around the lane....good luck.

I want songs that make Arsenal feel like shit, not songs that make them feel good about themselves, that's all.
Why would singing about hating them make them feel good? West Ham, Chelsea and Arsenal all sing about us on a weekly basis and I don't enjoy it.

It's basic, it's old, and with regards to Sol, when are we gonna move on? I think we can do better. I wouldn't stop anyone singing what they want. It's just I think as a fanbase it would be a much better atmosphere if we sung about our players, or our club.

Sol song i detest we still sing it....i totally agree that should have stopped a long time ago, i even dislike Ledleys song because it mentions Terry, why would a song about our legend include a **** like that...Ledley should have had a better song then that.imo.

We need to move on.I am sure that we can show our true support for our players on the field by singing something new.

yeah he shouldnt have remained sitting.

That would have showed em
I think you missed the point I was making. In any case there's people that will agree and there's people that will disagree, I'm with the current 36,000 that pile into WHL on a weekly basis rather than some pedant online. I won't be saying any more in this thread as you're general persona is irking me.

I absolutely refuse to stand up when this embarrassing chant starts up around me. Not because I don't hate the bastards, but because I don't have to stand up to prove it to anyone. Christ, surely we all do, don't we? That's what makes us all Yids.

Looking at this from another angle, when I hear Chelsea or West Ham fans sing 'Stand up if you hate Tottenham' it makes me feel proud. That's my entire argument.

It does reek a little of when west ham sing "LASAGNE WOOOOOAH" when their not even playing us. Which was getting on for a decade a go now.

Do you honestly think one Gooner on a train full of pissed up Spurs fans wouldn't get the exact same treatment?

The biggest problem (apart from dead kids EastLondonYidface) with football is that all fans seem to have convinced them selves that they are different from all other fans. Now sure there are some which have much more violent fans (Millwall) but by and large Spurs fans are no better or worse than your average football fan.

This is probably why there is a weird lack of sportsmanship between football fans that just doesn't exist in any other sport (or is it another symptom of that, I dunno).

We lose sight of the fact that aside from randomly picking (or having our family choose for us) a different team than another fan, we're just the same, people who love watching football. Why this creates more division than empathy I've no idea. Most Arsenal fans I know are sound. Same with Man U fans. Are some dicks, yeah sure. But I've mean plenty of assholes in WHL wearing white too.

In conclusion, ban all singing.

I don't like the regularity of "stand up if you hate Arsenal" and would prefer we sung "Stand up if you love Tottenham" more but I'm not in favour of getting rid of them or the Sol chants.

You wouldn't see any other club doing it. I think some people are a bit precious, it offends their bourgeoisie sensibility.

Yeah that's right, I said bourgeoisie motherfuckers.

Sing it at home, sing it away, in France, in Spain, in sun and rain, at U21 matches. Never forgive and never forget.

Lay down the law for the new players, and teach them what's just not acceptable.
