So, you agree with me do you. i.e, suggesting we as fans can name our choice of chairman is silly, and the benchmark of success should be success on the pitch and trophies won. If you dont agree, then instead of childish sarcasm why not detail your argument against my points.

No - but I will defend your right to say it.

I was actually doing some blue sky thinking and wondered what players I would bring in with all this money!

DO NOT list your player choices here - its not the place.

It was more, what would this new money give us with FFP now on the scene, other than the much needed stadium?

There are not any as the transfer window has closed. 'Blue Sky' in Manchester lol.

This thread is about a potential take-over.

Worked out what we could possibly spend (and stay in line with FFP) although its probably wrong.

FFP is basically wages+transfers=turnover. This is over 3 years and you are allowed a £35M loss.

Our wages have been roughly £90m our net spend £0 and our turnover £150m each year. So times by 3 years is.
£270+0=270 Our turnover £450m. Difference of £180 +£35m loss is £215m allowed to spend on players. (we will not be able to spend any more for the next couple of years though.
Premiership rules would limit our wages to basically £10m less than our turnover which would be £140m.

You miss my point, is the "City" type investment scenario now to a large extent a thing of the past due to FFP?

I don't know that Guggenheim would be better at running the club than ENIC, but building the stadium without incurring debt would be a massive advantage for the club. That's the #1 pro for a takeover. The #1 con is the devil we know has done a fine job so there's less risk sticking with them.

We'd also be able to use the naming rights on players rather than towards the costs.

If this takeover happens would think nfl would come white hart lane eventually

I would think these guys would love to have an NFL franchise....a well run NFL franchise is basically a printing press for money.

Surprised they weren't a massive player in the Bills sale actually.

I'm not sure what you mean by naming rights on players. Do you mean naming rights on the stadium? That would obviously pay for a nice chunk of the stadium but, imagine that we pay for stadium instruction in cash, then that naming right money can all be used to acquire players. And that's your end around FFP in the short term.

I can't believe you guys have silenced Mullers, after all we did tag him in Levy related posts in the first place and the discussion was two ways, not just one. Ahh well, are we all banned from Levy/ENIC talk in this thread then? I guess we'd better get back to spunking our pantaloons at the slight possibility that we might be taken over at some point down the line.

I still vote for Cain Hoy to come in but I'd feel in much safer hands if they do retain the services of he who must not be named. It would all but guarantee a smooth transition and despite what others have said, the one time we saw he who must not be named with a serious wedge to spend, he did spend it fast and hard.

Doesn't mention anyone to do with Cain Hoy there....

Just thought I'd put in the development. Can't find anything other than the statement from Matt Law linking them. Also if they only started on Thursday how can Cain Hoy be financing the development? Someone on Glory Glory (I think) said that it was only Cain Hoys european branch that started on Thursday and that the American branch had been going longer. But I can't find anything on that either.

That article was published in May. The Matt Law tweet is from today. I guess he has heard something.
I thought it would've mentioned some of the people involved with Cain Hoy in that article...

If they haven't had negotiations with Spurs yet then I doubt anyone at the club will be that informed. Although I'm sure Levy made a phonecall on Friday to find out what was going on.
