The talk when they took over was about building a side to be champions. Think it started out as a 5 year plan and then turned into a 10 year one when they realized the scale of the challenge!

I find it such a shame that the aim now is about being the 4th best club in the country. Shows how it is all about the money rather than winning.

They have failed on the obvious stadium issue.

I remember in the late 90's it was blindingly obvious we needed a new ground as the popularity was increasing year on year

When we had standing I've been inside WHL with around 50k people (always felt like a lot more too!)

36k was always going to be too small!!! Yet here we are 20 years later and we still have a 36k stadium whilst every one of our rivals fixed the issue

It's a joke. Yes they have failed.

50k it was probably nearer 60k some days when it was cash at the turnstyle?

Didn't they want to increase the capacity of WHL at first though? Remember there was all that stuff about historical buildings and planning permission. It wasn't untill ENIC raised our profile and got us back into Europe that we've really been able to push on with things and it's not like they've been sitting on their hands all this time.

Just look at what a pain in our arses the government and local council were before the threat of moving out of the area, some things are out of our control and because of that the project wasn't viable for a long time. Not to mention the Underground link problem.

It really isn't as simple as just saying that they've failed.

Is there any evidence showing that's our aim? No there's not.

4th has been a realistic target and once/if we reach that target on a regular basis then a new one will be set. We can't afford to fund a title winning team with our current income, the only way it would happen as things stand is with a lot of luck and few worldies coming through the youth team. If Cain Hoy can help us out then great but even they couldn't guarantee us a certain league position.

It's sad though that there are fans who will be up in arms if this deal doesn't now happen, and after that it probably won't be long before there's a "sack the board" protest similar to the ones the geordies used to have every summer.

We should be contenders for winners of The Premier League at least. All this 'toss' about the new Stadium, Portman Road, MK Dons and Brighton states one thing: A Total SHAMBLES

Mr LEWIS - we are sick of all your excuses given via your Levy Puppet.

Sell the Club and allow the true Supporters, Advertisers and Corporate Sponsors to watch, enjoy and pay for a facility that is is properly run.

You are making Tottenham Hotspur Football Club to become a 'larfing stock', let alone a £1bn stock.

"Every one of our rivals", like Chelsea, who play in a 41k stadium, or Everton, who play in a 39k stadium. There are plans to build a new stadium, and planning such a construction on a site where there's a whole lot of existing buildings (including our current stadium) takes time. It's how the system works, and that's not ENIC's fault.
They did waste plenty of time and money on the Olympic stadium.

Wasn't that just a ploy to put pressure on Haringey Council?

That's how it was spun.

Out of interest what is the reasons Chelsea haven't expanded Stamford bridge? Can't be bothered to google it!

You know I have been a member on this forum for sometime, I do not have a high post count, generally that is because when I post I like to post stuff that is constructive and something that aids the debate in a positive way. Lately I find myself looking at certain posters who keep drumming up the same old conjured tripe. Seriously there are so many single minded morons on here, that paint a picture about the club they "supposedly" love and come out with all manner of crap to make their point look credible irrespective of any argument people put to them. To love this club, you have to accept everything about it, whether you like it or not. If you don't like it, take your head out of your arses and educate yourselves on the bigger picture, and if you can't do that, then perhaps go and follow a club that gives you what you crave. My soul is in this club and it pains me to see so called fans not doing the same. ENIC own this club, you may not like it but you have no choice in the matter. Sorry, Rant over

Nah he's just a bit mental. His stuff on finance and conspiracy theories as always good value entertainment.
I just want to know whether Bassong will be suspended for our season opener against Liverpool? That's all I ask.

I love how the Cain Hoy thread has become the Levy thread and the Levy thread has turned into the Cain Hoy thread...

I pay to watch this club.

I pay to buy a car from Mercedes.

If the car from Mercedes does not perform I complain and get a replacement.

It seems that if you PAY to watch watch your beloved THFC you get 'bobbins' (short change)

You can't compare the quality of a car to club ownership.

So far away from each other, it's untrue.

Poor analogy mate! You own your Mercedes, ENIC own Spurs! You have a choice to pay or not to pay, once again your choice.

Christ almighty what would some of you lot be like if you supported a club that'd actually been badly run? Fact is 90% of the clubs in the country would kill to have our lot in charge while you sit there and whinge that we're not champions because daddy didn't remortgage the house to buy that super special pony you said you wanted and he'd get you if he really loved you.
