They paid good money to go and watch that crap rather than sitting at home on their computers posting crap in a forum.
Mate, I go to the Lane regularly. I'm on the season ticket waiting list and have been for years. I just can't afford every game.

Why are you not there if you think they are so justified? Well, I suppose we already know the answer to that.

As far as I am concerned when you walk through the turnstiles you support your team until the final whistle. You can moan all you like in the Brickies afterwards, but if you're going to sit in the stadium then it's your duty to support the players. The crowd is always the 12th man. West Brom were bottom of the league but their fans support them. What's our excuse? Going to spurs isn't like going to the opera. You don't boo a bad performance just because you didn't get your money's worth. It's attitudes like yours that are why our club has become more of a business than a football team.

People have been building up Pochettino's ability to improve the team far too much. It's as if some think he has some magical footballing scheme that leads to countless clear cut chances being created irrespective of the personnel he deploys. He failed at Espanyol for a reason. He didn't have the players, and going forward, it's going to be very difficult for him to do any better than the 69 points we earned last season under Sherwood and AVB without us spending without selling key players.

On the other hand, he deserves plenty of blame for leaving Vertonghen out of this game and on the bech. It's clear he's far superior to Chiriches and Kaboul, and those two playing created an atmosphere of tension that put a lot of pressure on the rest of the players. Say what you want about Vertonghen's attitude, he's a FAR superior player than those two e started and a calming influence with Lloris at the back.

Pochettino better learn from his mistakes quick. This isn't Southampton. 57 points isn't going to get you plaudits here. It'll have you on the hot seat, so to the extent he needs certain players to help instill his philosophy, he better be very tough with Levy come January in pushing him to improve the squad.
Won"t make any difference as Jan will be too late in the day to turn things round.

This is a very good question. Take United. Moyes wasn't the best manager, but it really shocked me how bad they were under him. Similarly, LvG has had probably one of the best managerial career of any manager in football, but the complete disaster that is his reign at Man U suggests that the problem is with the mentality of the players at Man U. I genuinely think we are suffering from the same sort of problem.

Two words: Mark Robins

Think about it.

Southampton lose their manager and best players and sit second in the table.

We spend millions and can't even muster a shot until the 70th minute and eventually end up losing the game.

Love football!

The vast majority of these players will never fit into Poch's system.

That is fucking obvious.

Bad day at the office, every team has them.
Man City 0 Stoke 1 see it happens.
I knew these days would happen and the team gets panned, rightly so, it was awful.
The season is long though and there will be other upsets, that's why the EPL is considered the most entertaining league.
I have faith in MP and judgement comes in May not September.
You are right of course. It just completely fucks up the weekend. :(

I agree with you t a certain extent, and we are a work on process. However, MP's way of football is a high pressing game. I wouldn't mind days like to day of we were reflecting MP's philosophy and playing in that way. But we do not. I can honestly see no real change to this time last year.

I will gladly give MP time, but in order for me to give him time, he needs to give me hope.

Chiriches was awful today (not the only one) but he isn't shit and he isn't a candidate for the worst Spurs player of all time. He's a raw player (shouldn't still be given his experience) with a lot of potential IMO.

Its easy to say he should have been subbed but what about his captain who was no better?

The boss picked the wrong defence.

Can you explain to me what kind of "tweaking" Pochettino can do with a no net spend transfer policy?
Ia ctually think that he would prefer to turf out some of the hangers on and bring in/through some hungry/young blood. He's rather good at it.

I'm off out.

We give our opposition the belief of a chance, we allow them to grow in confidence.

Players like Chiriches, Kaboul and Dembele are way too casual in their positions/roles on the field. They don't impose themselves at all, and play without any urgency whatsoever. Consequently opposition players take advantage.

Compare them to Lescott for example. He goes in hard, works hard etc., you know you'll have a tough time against him, but with Kaboul and Chiriches it's the opposite, you'd feel like you always have a chance...

Disagree, fans spend 100s of pounds to see that shit.
They aren't going to clap them off he pitch as you wouldn't clap a terrible performance at the theatre
Do you think they'll play better for it next time...

Or maybe that little bit of fear will grow each time the boos/groans come, then they'll do things a bit simpler next time, until it's sideways pass followed by no you shoot, no back to you to shoot.

My take was always if they'd given their all i'll give em a clap, if not i leave in silence.

So you're pissed off that we lost because the mighty yids are somehow entitled to win?

A pretty good collection of players had a bad day. Currently, they're neither amazing as a team nor as individuals. It's the hope that kills you. Reduce expectations (y)
No, what a load of bollocks, so we should not be beating west Brom at home then? Ok mate

I need to add out of absolute frustration.
Lescott was available on a free!
Fuck me - we had Chriches in our starting X1.
Why is the SO obvious seen by supporters but not by management?!
Yes I can't believe we didn't make a move for Lescott

I know he's a Brummy and possibly fancied going back home to be close to family and friends - but I am sure had he been given the straight choice between us and them we'd have won the race to sign him

Fazio looked a nightmare in the week - though of course its far too soon to judge him, but Chirches has been awful and just doesn't seem suited to our league (too slow, too weak, poor balance, not tall or good in the air) and Lescott was free and is a leader/captain with vital premier league experience

I look at the money we've spent on players like Chirches, Soldado and Paulhino and I dispair, they don't seem suited to us or even our league and its hard to see how they're suddenly going to become key players for us - its impossible not to think that money could and should have been spent better and as a result we should be a far more cohesive unit with more EPL suitable skill sets (pace/power/movement/penetration)

Whether, AVB, Baldini, Levy or the two later coaches are to blame or all to varying extents we have wasted a lot of money and not built a team with what we've spent. Everyone should be bought for a purpose, we lack leadership, we lack fight, we lack pace and power. Ok hopefully time will lead to great understandings and cohesion but how do you teach a weak player to be strong or a slow player to be fast? we're lacking a lot and we need a new CB (unless Dier or Fazio can evolve quickly into a partner for Verts)

Our CM is piss poor and it shows how badly we needed a player like MS - he's been immense for Saints this season and Capoue was a joke today (as was Dembele) we probably lost the midfield battle worse than we did against Liverpool
