Gerard runs to the crowd with his hand at his ear = no yellow card. Chadli runs to the crowd with his hand at his ear = yellow card.

Rules for one, rules for others?

It was a shocking yellow card BUT its not inciting the crowd if its your crowd

Thats the difference but technically speaking celebrating could be classed as inciting the crowd

It is comparable to Walcott last season though

Just a ridiculous decision. Don't think I've ever seen someone yellow carded for such a harmless celebration before.

But super super Stevie G ran to the Everton supporters, not his own.

I thought it was just the cameras but if so agree double standards though you might have to get really close to get booked when at home

Apart from our fans dishing out their own form of justice, was Walcott ever punished for that finger gesture?

And was Szczesny ever punished for gesturing that the referee was a 'wanker' after being sent off in the CL last year?

Its a grey area, i get that, but we always seem to get picked up on it whilst it goes unnoticed for others.

Gerrard is part of the "old England team" along with the likes of Lampard, Cole, Terry, Ferdinand, Rooney etc, where basically no matter what they do they are always the best and never wrong. Even though England won sweet FA with them in the team.

That card was a travesty.
Half of the goals scored in the PL are celebrated like that. If it's a no-no, it should be established before the season starts.

Of course there is. Always has been, always will be.

Surely the goal was inciting the crowd and therefore it should have been a straight red?

Not to mention Shearer.

Lets put this to rest;
