Let's pretend for a minute Poch would be subject to yearly reviews like most people on here will be in their jobs. You would think he will have one of sorts, who knows.

What objectives do you think he was set and how do you think he performed?

2014-2015 Objectives:

Objective 1. Work with previous signings purchased with Bale money and see if there are any players there worth keeping, try and get the best out of them.

Performance 6/10: Eriksen stand out performer, Lamela and Chadli have proven albeit inconsistently that they deserve to be part of the squad. Soldado, Capoue, Paulinho and Chiriches disappointing and should be moved on. Manager has probably done the best he could with the players given to him.

Objective 2: Work with younger players and continue to bring them through.

Performance 8/10: The emegence of Kane and continued development of Bentelab has been impressive. Mason has shown at times he has a place at this level but we need to see him continue to improve. Dier integrated into the squad very well and Danny Rose's form has been unexpected bonus.

Objective 3: Manager new signings

Performance 5/10: Eric Dier the one standout performer who will have a long term future at the club. Questions must be asked about the game time given to and the futures of Fazio and Stambouli. Vorm was always backup and Ben Davies has been sidelined due to emergence of Rose form. Yedlin and Ali ones for next season.

Shouldn't be judged too harshly on this, main objective to use previous season signings.

Objective 4: Team Performance

Performance 5/10: A couple of standout performances in the league against Arsenal and Chelsea and a trip to Wembley. There were signs of the new philosophy at the end of 2014 but results and performances have been disappointing at the end of the season.

Concerns:

Captaincy: Manager must take responsibiltity for picking Kaboul and Adebayor as captain and vice captain overlooking the likes of Hugo Lloris and Jan Vertonghen.

Man Management: Slight concerns at the treatment of some players. Townsend often played when underperforming whilst over looking Dembele and Lamela who deserved more game time.

2015/2016 Objectives:

Objective 1: Identify players surplus to requirements, bring in some experience to mix with youth and look at players more adaptable to style manager wishes to play.

Objective 2: Continue to look at youth and integrate the likes of Ali and Pritchard.

Objective 3: Close gap to top 4 (currently 10 points or more).

Everything has been par or just under. We do have the youngest team in the league most weeks, it's a long term job to get them performing at a consistently high level. Top class additions this summer would help.

Has he done anything special working with youth.
Ksbe and bentelab were already performing around this level under Sherwood and rose under avb and at Sunderland.

And as for mason... Well meh!

Yep, i'm a bit surprised we haven't see more youth give a chance - it seemed that there's a few on the cusp but we haven't seen any of them, even now we seem to be on holiday.

I think 'slight concerns' over man management is putting it mildly! That's probably my biggest concern, even beyond the tactical inflexibility, as I think those core relationships with the players will impact on everything else. If he's buggering that up - and I think he is - then he's not going to succeed.

Players ostracised. Players played and then dropped and then played. Players playing in terrible form due to favouritism. There's no meritocracy - how can you respect that as a player?

Would largely agree with the rest of it though.

A C grade for me. I probably hoped for a touch better, but know that it was a longer term job to turn the good ship Hotspur around.

Some signings have done alright, some players have really kicked on, and there has been a good use of youth players.

On the down side Poch has struggled with anyone outside his core 13 or so, we've not yet been able to see an effective plan B (probably related to the lack fo quality outside the core players) and it's clear there still needs to be a big overhaul of tha playing squad, argaubly up to 50% of the senior pros need changing/upgrading/removing

2014-2015 Objectives:

Objective 1. Work with previous signings purchased with Bale money and see if there are any players there worth keeping, try and get the best out of them.

Performance 3/10: Eriksen had a purple patch mid season, as he did end of last season, but has struggled to produce consistently. Chadli established as unspectacular squad player. Lamela still not firing, but at least given a chance. Gave up on the rest.

Objective 2: Work with younger players and continue to bring them through.

Performance 7/10: Continued development of Kane and Bentelab, introduced Mason and Dier, showed faith in Rose after dip in form at end of last season. No tangible progress at bridging gap between first team and development squad, but at least makes right noises.

Objective 3: Manager new signings

Performance 3/10: Dier apart has failed to realise value of close season signings.

Objective 4: Team Performance

Performance 3/10: A couple of standout performances in the league against Arsenal and Chelsea and a rather easy road to Wembley. Otherwise shambolic in defence and constipated in attack.

Concerns:

Tactics. Sticks stubbornly to tactics that are not working and won't contemplate alternative approaches.

Training. Over-intensity in early season seems to have led to dramatic dip in form.

Use of squad. Persists with system that does not utilise players strengths. Has frozen out half the squad and over works the rest.

Man Management: No interest in players other than a select handful.

2015/2016 Objectives:

Objective 1: Identify realistic targets who will improve us.

Objective 2: Integrate last seasons loan players and provide way to first team for development squad.

Objective 3: Make use of whole squad, including those he does not want but whom we have been unable to shift.

Objective 4; Fix leaky defence.

Objective 5: Play attractive, exciting football

Objective 6: Stay in top 6.

Objective 7: Have a decent cup run.

I do find it disturbing and amusing how many players he has exiled so far considering the abuse AVB got for just not involving Ade and ekotto in matches.

Ekotto
Kaboul
Capoue
Stambouli (makes the bench sometimes but doesn't dare play him)
Dembele
Lennon
Adebayor

Good thing the seasons over as he'd soon run out of players when someone rubs him the wrong way

I'm starting to suspect that Poch is hatching a plan with AVB to compete in the Dakar Rally. Together, along with Roberto Soldado, they're creating an uber immense vehicle which will be funded by Levy's payoffs and powered by THFC deadwood.

OP missed out:

Objective 4: Tactical nous. Evidence of selecting the right shape and individuals depending on the opposition. Show some ability of a good feel for the game and make appropriate in game changes. Have the players put into practice the key components of the game plan, such as pressing and high tempo football?

0.5/10.

I know alot of people are saying we are fielding the youngest team in the PL, but thats not because we are necessarily building a team for the future but more of the case, that the experienced players have been so bad(Kaboul, Capoue, Adebayor, Soldado and etc.)

That said imo Onomah should be involved as well

Next season better be a B+.
This season was bedding in and sorting.
Should he get the players requested then I expect a lot better against the lower teams.

The biggest problem he faces this summer is getting rid of ALL the players he obviously doesn't want to work with.
If this doesn't happen then he won't be able to bring in enough new players and having burned his bridges with so many players...how is he going to manage them next season?

That's a problem Poch will have to deal with.
Gets it wrong and he could be gone.

Yup, I said similar yesterday. It's a distinct possibility we may end up with loads of them still here - I can't see Levy being happy to pay people to sit and twiddle their thumbs for a second season because Poch won't play them. It's dangerous to burn bridges with them so early.

Apart from Kaboul and Capoue (who seem to have been given up on entirely) the players who've come in have at least seemed to be trying, so I don't see there being burned bridges. That said f they just physically can't do it/mentally adjust to it then there's not going to be a solution other than replace them in the squad wherever possible, even if they aren't sold. If that means using more of the kids then that's just what's going to need to happen.
