Judging by some of the posts in this thread I bet there are a few from here cheering on Arsenal in the Final.

Read the comments. Best one asks why was Keane at the match.:D

Sherwood's response was atypically Sherwood-esq - a touch of humour with a little too honest.

"I went to a lot of football matches, probably 20-30 while I was out of work," Sherwood said.

"That’s what I do. If that’s a formula to get yourself a job, next time I’m out of work I’ll position myself at the Nou Camp or the Bernabeu."

Great work, 225.
Funny and informative-the perfect combination.

It's from this article:

I don't see what Keane was trying to achieve? He basically shot himself in the face with his comments about Benteke and Villa - especially as he tactically failed to win the Villa job by sabotaging Villa when they were near the top of the table.

Do think Sherwood perhaps should have said "If I find myself out of work again" rather than "next time I'm out of work", but hey ho.

He must be a miracle worker if he's got Cleverly playing well.
Absolutely...even Alex Ferguson couldn't get him to look like a player.
Tim can though.
Cleverley had a few good games when he broke into United's first team, then got injured. Needed an extended run in a side to find form again IMO, which he was never going to get at United.

I watched him at United and at NO time did he look like the player Villa have now.

Hope Newcastle go down for their own good. Ashley just uses them as an advertising billboard. If they go down hopefully he will realise he needs to start taking them seriously, or better yet he will sell.

A few quotes from the great man..

On the pressure of playing for Aston Villa:

"I don't want to hear crap about how difficult it is to play at home. Playing for a big club comes with pressure. Anyone can do it with a lesser club - but you have to have bullocks to play for Aston Villa. This is a big club."

On his emotional displays on the touchline during games:

"I could try acting. I could sit down and make little notes and everyone would say I've matured. But I know that's impossible. I can't imagine being any different 500 games in. People thought I would calm down as a player, but I didn't."

On why Aston Villa differ from other relegation candidates:

"We're like Everton. I don't think we've got a group of players who are cut out for a relegation battle. We can't be the Crystal Palace of last year, or the West Brom of this year. Digging in, blood and thunder, lump the ball in, protecting a lead - that's not us."

On his strategy to help Aston Villa's players succeed:

"Our squad...is more suited to pushing for a place in the Europa League. I tell them: We do it our way. Go and get the ball. If you give it away, get it back and we start again. I think it takes more courage to do that. It's easier to destroy than create."

On galvanizing supporters and improving the atmosphere at Villa Park:

"People say the fans have to get behind the team. Hold on, why must they cheer? You make them cheer. They're the only loyal people in the game. Make the difference for them, get them on your side."

The last one brings a tear to my eye..........pity our fans couldn't get on Tim's side.

Pity Levy had not signed 2 dopey players in Soldado and you know who. Tim told him they were not good enough. Levy did not want to hear that.
The £56 million quid investment needed looking after by an Argentinian Spanish speaking manager. That was more valuable to him than the possible rewards from a great footballing season.
Didn't work out.
