dont know if there is already a thread for this but does anyone know if they have been announced yet ? My sons kit arrived and he wants Kane 18 on it but with 9 and 10 most likely up for grabs, Kane could opt for one of them.

I don't think he'll change as he said Defoe told him to have the 18 shirt as he had it before and Klinnsman had it first time round.

We won't be announcing squad numbers until mid July at the earliest - still got maybe 10 players to move on - and first pre-season match currently 29 July (although I would expect some earlier ,matches to be arranged asap), so no pressing need

Never buy kit with name and number untill transfer window is closed. It's made official before season kick off, but can be changed even after player has worn it in league game (Adebayor few years ago). We're likely to start pre season with numbers from last season. Player is sold, desirable number open up and you can have several changes.
Many will buy 18 Kane early, wouldn't surprise me if he's 9 Kane with Soldado gone

I have a feeling Bentaleb will take 14 which he has with Algerie
Townsend if still around probably have dibs on 7
Will we get rid of Adebayor? We tend to not take numbers away from players even if they are out of the side.

My predictions:

Kane sticks with 18.
Eriksen takes 8 (his number for Ajax and his twitter handle is chriseriksen8) when Paulinho is sold.
Bentaleb takes 14.
Mason takes 23.
Adebayor is not sold and stays with 10.
Townsend stays with 17.
New winger takes 7.
New striker takes 9.

I don't think Adebayor will agree to move. I think he'll sit out his contract and pick up his massive wages for another year and then move as a bosman and get a fat contract in China or whatever. You get more wages and signing bonuses as a bosman = suits Adebayor perfectly.

Maybe but no way he will get the number 10. I'm sure he will sit it out too but we will loan him out somewhere.

Since the introduction of of squad numbers Spurs have as far as i can remember never taken a shirt number away from a player. There's been a handful of times when a player has been asked if they're willing to change. Like when Sheringham returned and wanted his 10. Don't think Ade would be up for that though ..

Kane could have been 18 with England, but chose 9 cause he could and is star of the show. Could very well do the same for us
