So. Much. ITK. I hope the part about us setting a deadline on the MS transfer is true - there's been a lot said about a shift in transfer policy this summer, and this more than anything else would convince me of that.

You'd like to think if we can get him down to the new training ground and show him the stadium plans, we might be able to sell ourselves as a good destination.

I'm sure he's already been made well aware of the training grounds and the oncoming new stadium, and I'm sure he views us as a strong option, I think he just really wants CL this season as he wants to give himself the best chance of getting into France's squad for the Euros next summer.

Honestly, if despite all that, he's already willing to set a deadline on these other teams and will accept an offer from us as soon as next week should those offers not come, I commend him on that.

In someways I totally agree with you, but I also believe that the sort of due diligence is something our club don't get right, ie are these players adapting to the league..does their skill set and family set up make their success in a foreign league transferable to success in the premier league, I just think it's far too coincidental that these top players come and 5 out of 7 hit a two season slump. Granted we aren't the only team that screw this up look at Liverpool...but certain clubs seem to get this right...scouting and identifying, making sure they are the right fit on and off the field and then perhaps the ongoing support. I think we as a club have room lots of room to improve this area

but certain clubs seem to get this right scouting and identifying, making sure they are the right fit on and off the field and then perhaps the ongoing support.

Which clubs?

Even Ferguson couldn't get it right every time. He spent plenty of money and had his fair share of duds. Forlan and Veron come to mind. Have all of Wenger's signings been a roaring success, how about Podolski? It may appear Mourinho gets it right but then he has an unlimited budget and a pool of 70 players to draw from and many of them never see the light of day in a Chelsea shirt. And City are the same they have billions to waste on players and will get 11 great players eventually if you have a squad of 50+ players. And then there's Liverpool which you admit fail at this too.

So that's all the teams above and Liverpool, none of them seem to get it right. They just have a lot more money to buy better players thus reduce the chances of them having failures, but they still fail with some signings despite the money they spend.

If you're alluding to other 'certain clubs' well they're all below us most seasons so we must be doing something right.

Thanks for the heart attack anyway mate, getting done for wasting ambulance time now!!:woot:

If the idea of MS going somewhere other than Spurs gets you hospitalised you should probably get some life insurance sorted out mate - cos he isn't going to be coming to us.

United had a great record, arsenal and Chelsea too, we on the other hand have a shocking record

Anyone know if we have any interest in William Carvalho if we fail Morgan?
Was rumoured to Monaco earlier in the summer and if that's the status of the clubs chasing him this summer i feel we could compete and have a chance to land him since arsenal who was heavily linked with him in the past seem to focus on other targets.

He has a reported £25m release clause... no chance we'll pay that.

Or him being remotely interested in us, he would want a CL team at his level of talent

Agree with this but why are people linking us with players that we have little or zero chance with, plus do they not know who our chairman is its never ever going to happen.
