I do find it reasonably amusing at the amount of pure hissy fits bouncing around regarding the Moses stuff....

Most of the more successful things the club has done has been against the grain of the fan consensus, imo, and most of the signings that would appease the fans (at the time they were made) haven't exactly been..... well, successful.

That's not intended to be a black and white statement, more a statement that the fans aren't superior to professional decision makers, and perhaps an indication that things might work out a little better than some are presuming.

One of my favourite Spurs players of the PL era was David Ginola, literally a Gerry Francis type of singing, and was signed at 30 years old. I remember at the time sections of fans were against the idea and wanted Ferdinand more (who we signed eventually a short while after for twice the price). Who would have thought that the French Newcastle reject would help us to a trophy and into our Hall of Fame?

What I'm saying is, just because a player has been wasted at Chelsea doesn't mean he is incapable of becoming, or it's impossible he can become, the next Spurs legend. He's got 6 years to grow before he even gets to the age Ginola was when he signed for us....

Moses is more Ruel Fox than David Ginola.

Yet you're judging a player's performance for us before he's even been signed. Irony wasn't lost on you.

Moses is wank though bro. I never wanted him even after his Wigan exploits. You could tell he would always be a good player for a lower to mid table prem side but never had that top quality needed to step up.
I would rather see what our youth could do than buy Moses.
Ginola was class throughout his career, to mention his name in the same paragraph as Moses embarasses us both. Sacrilegious mate. Sacrilegious.

No he is comparing the purchase. Saying the fans weren't excited about Ginola. Which is not how I remember it at all. I remember thinking it was a great buy and liking him at Newcastle.

If he'd have said Sinton I would have agreed.

He is 24 (only a year older than Lamela), was 3rd in the league of average successful dribbles per game last year and would definitely add something to us offensively as we have no one who does that.

We are light in the wider positions - Pritchard i hope will get game time, if we can buy another up and coming potential star then great but id take bringing Moses on for the last 20 mins of games over Andros.

For the right price i really don't see the problem.

The point is that the way people, not just on here, 'judge' these players is so incredibly flawed - if the internet was around then, people would be saying "he's only had 17 caps, he's a trouble maker, he's a newcastle reject, how come no one else wants him then?" and so on. Yet the guy was a game changer for us as a club, and it goes to prove how a lot of things people use to discredit a transfer link are utter bollocks.

The fact that you and others are just seeing it as "comparing Moses to Ginola" is missing the point. It's about separating the details and seeing that a player could be really good for the team. Just like how Sherwood/Poch saw that in Kane and Bentaleb (when the majority were writing them off), or Rose. The list goes on.

No he's not the next Messi, but I trust the club more than I trust the naysayers.

The four stages of Moses...

Shock

Anger

Pleading

Acceptance

Have you never met a Spurs fan? Even if he comes in and gets golden boot, player of the year and helps us winning the PL there will be some spurs fans muttering Victor fucking Moses on their deathbeds.

Victor Moses is as strong as an ox and clearly has work rate but so did Emile Heskey and some managers will love him for that just like Emile. I just hope our manager doesn't. He found his level when on loan at Stoke.
