Think it might be that we have been keeping clean sheets with that back four, and Rose needed game time so played him in the cups instead of risking him in the league.
He will be first choice again soon enough I think.

Many on here seem to prefer Rose to Davies but all need to remember that today's back four have had three clean sheets on the bounce. So I can't fault MoPo for his choice. COYS

occasionally it's not about the better players in the team but defense as a unit and understanding.

not quite true, rose played the 0-0 vs everton, davies vs sunderland and palace.

A tad petrified by the City midfield trio and I hope Eriksen starts on the left as Lamela has looked really good behind Kane.

Like the rest of the line-up but I can't understand why Poch plays Davies. Rose gives us so much more urgency going forward.

The performance against Palace at home in the Premiership was the best team performance in a long time. I'm not going to let Wednesday's nights selection debacle sour what were huge positives shown last Sunday in the league. I think our young, spirited side will be up for this. West Ham managed to beat them.This is the kind of game Alli has dreamed of playing in. I expect him to shine today. I'd be very happy with a draw.

Prefer Rose to Davies but other than that think it's our strongest team. And I think we'll lose badly they are just too good for this young squad.

But we have no one else do we because we didnt purchase anyone to strengthen that area, this is the best we can do.

I think Eriksen starts on the left, but it looks like Son playing behind Kane, and Lamela starting on the right - very fluid though.

It has less to do with transfer policy, and more to do with Mason, Bentaleb, and Dembele all carrying knocks at the same time. You can't plan for that type of injury run.

Need to try and get at that backline and unsettle them. I'd suggest trying something different and say putting Son right up top against their backline in the first 10-15 mins and see if his pace causes panic.
