He did exactly what he was bought to do today. He came off the bench to inject some pace to an already flagging City defence. The commentator touched on how Navas was used as City's impact sub and that N'Jie looks like he could be ours, and I would say there's a good deal of sense in that.

He's going to lose the ball a few times, and he's going to hit a wrong pass here and there, but he's the kind of player who will at least have a go. He's quick and he knows it. He'll also make those runs past Kane, and since Harry is very good at dropping back and knocking some clever passes through, the two could link up very well.

We really needed that bit of pace and N'Jie, along with Son, look like smart acquisitions. Time will tell if he picks up enough to cement a first team spot, but he's still young and getting used to the league, so right now he's a very smart option off the bench when we need something different.
His pace is also crucial to help out the FB when recovering on the oppo's counter.

Nice control, turn and a great early ball. So unused to it nowadays. Nice cameo today.

Think my posts got lost last week but I did say he has had no pre-season and will only get better. His first few sub performances looked like a player in his first minutes of the season, sort of touches you see from players in pre-season.

Glad he had a great cameo today, showed what he is about. I still think he's going to be a slow burner though but what a sub to have when defending a lead towards the end of games.

Great assist today, quality but of skill to get away from his man!

Only watched the highlights though, how did he do in general?

Really good. There was a fantastic bit of skill that probably wouldn't have been in the highlights, where he won us a corner from a nothing situation. Doesn't sound like much, but if you saw his footwork you'd realise he's clearly got a lot of natural ability. It was the kind of trickery that people would be crowing about if Messi or Ronaldo had done it.

Cheers!

There's something about this guy. The pace is one thing, but he looks a pretty calculated player, which is often what is lacking from speedy players.

He's known for turning up in the big games. Got the winner for Lyon against PSG. Thought he looked very sharp indeed, which was just what we needed. Interesting to see how he progresses

Anyone writing him off is of course idiotic but he's very much an unknown quantity so I can well understand people not getting carried away. His pace is obviously an asset but that turn was sweet, and more surprising

The young forward has stated that initially he did not think that his start to life at Tottenham had gone well, but Pochettino helped in convincing him that he would make an impact at the club.

“It had been two months and a few weeks and I did not know the competition, so obviously I lacked rhythm,” Maxifoot quote N’jie as saying.

“In my head, it was not going very well. Before arriving I was injured in Lyon. I arrive, I get hurt!

“I started to ask myself questions. But the coach talked to me and reassured me.”

Good bit of work by Poch. Played him up top but wide on the right and we pinged balls in his direction in that last bit of the game. Citeh had to be wary.

Pochettino displaying those awful, "non-existent man management" skills that some of the fans insist about :ROFLMAO:

Clinton's little cameo was class yesterday, did a lot of things right which is always a positive as that means he's learning quick!

I hope that his performance yesterday; though a short cameo, will be a springboard to many good performances in the future with the club.

Against arsenal we put he wide left for the last 10 minutes and kept trying to get him behind the full back. Seems like that is what will happen when he's playing supersub. It will be interesting to see where he plays when he starts, I would guess in the Europa. Will he play out wide with someone like Son in the middle or will he play central.

You'd think Thursday against a team he'll be pretty familiar with would be the ideal time to give him a start.
