Steffen Freund, Michael Brown, just for work-rate alone, but limited in their ability. Jenas is a good shout as he never took his game to another level, I think Ponch could have done that for him. If he could have got into the head of someone like Mido he could have been a special player, when he decided to try he was pretty handy

Not sure Mido would have been too impressed with double training sessions, unless it involved pie at the end ;) :D

Not necessarily as a starter, but I think Poch would like a Teemu Tainio in the squad. He was a real team player and a great character, as well as being a decent player on his day.

ahh, +1 for Teemu... shame he was injury prone

Jenas stands out too, a natural athelete who needed more moulding to be a complete player.

Maybe, just maybe Tony "the affronted Giraffe" Gardner could have improved too.....ahh, maybe not.

So is this thread about current players no longer at Spurs, or just any former Spurs player in history?

Dave Mackay and Ossie Ardiles would have fitted Pochs system well, if time travel was an option.

Having said that, they'd have been immense no matter who the manager was.

Gascoigne.

Obviously.
But would he?

Football genius whose undoubted talent, vision and ability would have improved any team in the world - absolutely no argument on the playing side.

It's just would Poch have put up with the bat-shit crazy antics that went on behind the scenes?

Disco.

Personal opinions aside, always reliable in the tackle, but always preferred him operating higher up and with more capable cover for that sort of formation i think he would've shone again. He played fast one-twos well, could take on a man and had a very cool head on his shoulders - he would compliment the ice cold Verts/Toby/Dier combination well, imo.

mendes, davies, carrick, and VdV. I think VdV was unfairly viewed by some as being lazy at times. but that's not what I saw. he always seemed like a willing running. he just had shitty hamstrings!!

I think he would fit in any team in the world sans Barca, but Gareth Bale? Certainly fit enough to play the pressing system and I think he would buy in. Poch would probably play him from the right though, it wouldn't provide him with much space but imagine Kane, Bale, and Eriksen on the break after a turnover...

The man still says himself that old Whiskey nose probably could have saved him. Why not someone like Poch?

David Bentley. He had talent and ability but it just didn't click. The team ethics would have been just right for him.

Ok, I'm just going to go with current players as I think that's what the OP was on about.

The obvious ones are Bale and Modric, but a former Spurs player that I think would be a great fit right now would be Carrick. Probably wouldn't play too much, but he's the sort of experienced player that would really benefit such a young team. Players like Mason, Alli, and Bentaleb would all learn a lot from him, and obviously he's still got a lot to offer on the pitch.

No chance. I loved Benny but I theres no way Poch would have put up with him.

I feel Rafa would fit Pochettino's style quite nicely, in behind Kane. Would probably be the same as it was under Redknapp where he's subbed off between 65-80 in most games, though.
