We were lucky. We made hard work of this. Anyway they say the hall mark of Champions is winning even if playing poorly.

Hard to pick MOTM so I will go with the first scorer Lamela

EXCELLENT

VERY GOOD Trippier Kane Dembele Lamela

GOOD Toby Vert Lloris Eriksen Son

FAIR Carroll

POOR Alli Rose Dier

Net
Chadli

I'm personally writing to the Queen to campaign for an honorary knighthood for Mr Erik Lamela,

COYS!

Trippier surprised me today. His delivery is always excellent (thanks to him for the winner) but Rose was an abomination. Just when I thought he was beginning to turn a corner, his petulant side really affects his game negatively.

Genuinely have no clue who to give the MOTM. Thought wasn't a good performance and no one really stood out for me. Perhaps Lloris for the save to prevent a loss or Dier for the tackle to prevent a possible equaliser. Just have no clue. I have no clue. Never have. Pretender.

Edit: Scratch that, Trippier.

Trippier's crosses were dangerous throughout the game (Rose could really learn something!) and his crossing also gave us the victory in the end. He gets my vote!

MOTM goes to the inventor of hawkeye - that goal would have been given before Goaline technology.

Don't think it's fair to rate the players when they've played so close in succession, which is a good job as none were that great really. Kane looked liveliest I'd say, and Trippier looked good going forward.

What a win ! These are the moments that can take you a long way..

But we were lucky today, we did not know what to do went they went down to ten men. And we couldnt deal with their free kicks / corners.

Rose was pants (although I fully understand why he started the game today, I think he's a liability and Davies is a better option both defensively and offensively), the rest put in a decent shift.
Trippier looked brilliant on the right and put in some beautiful crosses. For the second game running, our subs made a real impact after coming on (particularly Son and Eriksen). Lamela worked his socks off and Alli was decent.

Hope Dembele isn't out for too long - he's absolute key to our team.

Tripier and Lamela were our best players, not by much though.

Meh game with no real quality, horrible opponent but it's just nice to see Spurs able to roll their sleeves up and dig out a win (y)

Tripper has FTQ IMO.

Thought he was very good today, although he could've done better for their goal (and to be fair, not exactly easy to challenge Deeney and Dier still should've done better). Lol how people already wrote him off.

Also, I don't actually think we were that bad today. We were playing against a bunch of thugs at their ground with a shitty pitch, just 2 days after our previous game. A bunch of thugs that mugged off Liverpool.

We do need to stop giving away leads though, and we always seem to play shit against 10 men.

So happy TBH.

Trippier MOTM

Poor performance all around.

Lloris - 3 - No command of the area, should have smothered their goal, poor distribution.
Rose - 6 - Decent, always an outlet though no end product.
Dier/Verts/Toby - 4 - Manhandled by 2 players all afternoon.
Trippier - 7 - MOTM. Great balls in, always offered himself though wasn't picked out nearly enough, especially when up a man.
Dembele - 5.5 - Didn't get involved, wonder if he was fit. Calming when on the ball though.
Carroll - 5 - We just seem fragile when he plays, but he did OK.
Alli - 5 - Meh.
Lamela - 6 - Good pressing, good finish. Disappeared second half.
Kane - 6 - Did OK.
Eriksen - 4 - The passenger plays from the bench this time. Woeful continuation of the past 1-2 months. Lacks fire.
Son - 6.5 - Points for the goal, good movement.
Chadli - Not enough time really.

Thought Lloris was terrible by his standards. No control in his own box. No standout player for me. Liked Trippiers contribution and give it to him.

Maybe it had something to do with playing 3 central defenders? I agree that it was a very strange performance from him.

My first reactions are that Watford play shit football, have a shit pitch and their fans are shit whinging whingers but they seem to make a lot of noise and be great fans. It wasn't a great performance but it was a great win, it makes all the difference.

I've got that much adrenaline going after that game that it's going to be impossible to sleep now (its 4am in Australia).

Pathetic from 70 minutes until the end.

Got the win that's what counts, biggest 3 points of the season so far, IMO

Carroll isn't a starter.

Rose is out of form and Davies is first choice.

Kane looks knackered but worked hard.

Lamela not as good as Norwich game but still very influential.

Trippier looked good.

Dier mixed bag.

Son did well for his goal, pleased for him.

Lloris, mixed bag.
