Interesting article. Shows how far Harry has come in a short space of time. As proud of himas we are, I'm not sure he is,as yet, more valuable than Suarez, Bale and Aguero? ......Here's hoping tho

It's Kane's and Sterling's ages that make them so valuable. They have demonstrated that they can play at the top level at an early enough age that they can continue to do so for another decade. That makes them much better investments than Aguero or Bale.

Sterling hasn't demonstrated he can play at the top level; he has been poor for city. Anyway, the point is: Aguero and bale are patently so superior to sterling that they're worth more even when their ages are accounted for. Put it this way: if city could have signed bale in the summer they'd have paid a lot more than 49m for him.

As for kane, I agree he does cut it at the top level and is in the same bracket as aguero (and therefore worth more due to his age). Neither of them are worth as much as bale.

I think it's value. Whatever that means. A guess at what it would take to buy them? So Sterling just went for a lot, so his stock is high - City would want a decent profit. Kane is one of our own and has never been sold so it's what they think we'd sell for? Dunno.

Levy's valuation of Dele should be enough to get him on the list ---- he is going to be the worlds best player!

I wasn't making judgments on Sterling's and Kane's respective abilities, so none of that bears on my post. It was a comment on the market. They are perceived as having that level of achievement in their early 20s and that is why they have higher transfer values than Bale and Aguero.

Wonder what our entire squad will be worth at the end of the season when we've won the league ;)

1. My original post was about sterling, not Kane, as I tried to clarify in my last post.
2. 'Perceived value' is not what you said. You said outright sterling was a better investment than bale.
3. Even if you meant perceived value you're wrong. As I said, in the summer sterling was perceived at being worth 49m. In the summer Bale was (and still is) perceived as being worth more than that. It is hardly likely that bale's value has plummetted since then, or that sterling's has rocketed, so putting sterling above bale is ridiculous, as I said.
4. Same goes for sterling and Aguero.

Underlined shows I understood your first point about age influencing value.
Bold shows I understood the notion of perceived value.
