With their relative performances on Wednesday I'd swap Son for Lamela, but other that the same team as against Sunderland.

Do you know that you're literally the only person that goes on about Lamela? So fucking boring now.

I agree it's more in vogue to be highly critical of Eriksen or Chadli at the moment, but I've always been one to swim against the tide. I kind of feel like how Darwin must have felt when he wrote about Evolution - everyone else was pouring scorn over him but time is increasingly proving him to be correct.

Though in all seriousness, I do feel Erik would benefit from a spell out of the team - I got the sense last night that some of the players are getting a bit frustrated with him.

From the line up vs. Sunderland, I would probably replace Rose with Davies and choose Son for Alli.
We need the defensively most reliable full backs vs. Palace, they almost only attack wide out on the wings. Especially Davies is a no brainer for me.

Would like to see Wimmer get a chance at some point. Vertonghen has been very good of late but I'd have no qualms with Wimmer in there. Won't happen of course.

Lloris

Walker Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose

Dier Dembele

Son Ali Eriksen

Kane

This ^

Poch has succeeded in rotating the the full backs in way that all 4 are not sure who is first choice now, that keeps all of them on their toes.

Alderweireld obviously only functions with Vertonghen. I don't want to see Wimmer & Alderweireld together again all season.

Because it's insane, no, no ... stupid, no, no ... INSANE to even consider for even the most fleeting of the briefest moments that the toying with what is probably the best defence pair in the league, would be in anyway a sensible, reasonable or postive thing to do.

Walker, Rose, Trippier and Davies are part of it as well.

I'd like to see us start Son in place of either Eriksen or Lamela. I think Eriksen and Lamela have been doing ok but Son offers something a bit more direct. Probably I would start with Dembele Eriksen and Son with Dier and Ali behind.

Straws... Clutching...

You know surely that the two CBs are the backbone of a defense and full-backs being swapped around has much less an affect than CBs.

Come on mate, this is basic stuff.

It was only a suggestion. How long do I have to sit on the naughty step?

Palace wingers tend not to protect the full backs so the pace of the Yorkshiremen at full back to get in behind should work a treat. Dembele in should keep their CM out of possession long enough to nullify them, but they are good when they have the ball so Dier to close them off will be important. Eriksen is coming into form, he was brilliant last night, while Alli has had a good rest and is a goal threat, so I'd keep both in but drop Lamela as he's been poor lately and Son really deserves a chance. Also, Son's pace and directness adds an element to our play which we lack with both Lamela and a Eriksen on the pitch.

Palace are on a slight downturn, I'd like to see us really take the game to them.

I'll probably end of taking your place as Verts puts Palace 1-0 up within 3 minutes with an own goal off the back of Toby's head, whilst I scream into the radio, "Fucking hell, why isn't Wimmer in there?!?!"

Rest Dier v Colchester. He'll be fine next two games. Hardly had any trouble between him and Wimmer last night.

Rotate the full backs again, Trippier and Rose in. Davies and Walker can play v Norwich before more rotation v Colchester and use the squad well before Watford and Man City.

I'd probably leave Eriksen or Lamela out too. Both have played a lot of minutes lately

Lloris
Trippier Toby Jan Rose
Dier Alli
Lamela Dembele Son
Kane
We play Colchester before Norwich.

I'll keep saying it until it happens

Lloris

Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose

Alli, Dier, Dembele

Son, Kane, Eriksen

Rest for Lamela (unless Son is injured), Bentaleb on for Dier after 60, Chadli for Eriksen 5 minutes later. For shits & giggles, Eriksen & Dembele can alternate every 20 minutes or so, thus giving us the beauty of unpredictability..

I know nothing. You're welcome (y)

Some interesting selections for Poch ahead of this. I'm sure he'll swap the full backs because we all know that will happen but I'm sticking with Walker. And providing Son only picked up a slight knock and we took him off as a precaution, he definitely has earned a start after tonight.

Surely we can give Dier a rest here. They havn't scored in five games and we'll dominate the ball. Bolasie is out and that really negates the speed of their counter attack. That said its still an away game and he's formed a very formidable defensive axis with Toby and Jan so I fully expect him to start. Just think this could be a good time to give him a break and we've a lot of games coming up.

Also much prefer Alli in the CM2 as opposed to in behind Kane or alongside him.

Lloris

Walker
Toby
Jan
Rose

Dembele
Alli

Lamela
Eriksen
Son

Kane

Subs: Vorm, Trippier, Davies, Dier, Bentaleb, Carroll, Chadli

flip me thats a good team we got

That's our strongest starting 11 in my opinion, with Son interchangable with Lamela.

I think Poch will probably go with: Lloris, Trippier, Toby, Jan, Rose, Dembele, Dier, Eriksen, Alli, Lamela, Kane - Personally I think Son deserves a run in the team because of his great performance last night however even though Lamela has been a bit below par these past couple of weeks his pressing off the ball is probably too important to the team to drop him at the moment. Neither Eriksen or Alli do it nearly as well as he does so if anybody was to be dropped it is more likely to be one of those two.
