if we lose on Sunday and Leicester win, id expect the same people praising us now to be wondering why they ever thought this time would be different!
At the end of the day, all the hard matches are in April so lets not get too excited until we learn to win at the likes of Citeh, Anfield and S Bridge.

Good article

Tbh I expected a top 4 finish, even after so many draws at the beginning of the season. But to be 2nd with only 13 games left 5pts from 1st and 7pts from 5th only makes me want to kick myself for not putting a bet on.

But now I have a true belief that if not this season then at least before I kick the bucket i'm going to see my team be crowned champions. (As long as we keep Poch)

Unless that is I have a typical spursy moment and contract a new strain of ebola and get a visit from the grim reaper the season before they do it.

Lets put things into perspective. We are only 7 points ahead of 5th place. THERE ARE STILL 39 POINTS AVAILABLE FOR ALL TEAMS.

So lets slow down on the expectations eh? I love the feel-good articles but im not getting carried away.

Don't know if your post was a response to mine but I can only assume it is with your 'expectations' comment.

Although I am a new member to this forum, I have supported spurs since the late 70's. Admittedly I was a kid so I knew sweet fa about football and my memory is a bit hazy.

So my PERSPECTIVE comes from players like Roberts/Perryman, I also unfortunately remember J Edingbrough and the Ginger Pelle and false dawns e.g Domingez/Rebrov.
What I don't remember is a spurs team that has dominated virtually every prem game like this side has. Agreed still 39pts to play for but guaranteed all of the top six teams will drop pts between now and the end of the season.

I don't need to slow down my friend, u need to catch up and realise what's really possible. I'm not shouting from the rooftops or spouting the 'T' word to any goons I just have a positive belief rather than a negative one.

The difference to the past is Poch is operating a totally different system with players who have bought in. One that he uses no matter the opposition with consistent results.

Of course there's loads of games to go and we still might finish 6th or whatever, but I'm excited by what I see every week. The organisation, the fitness levels, the confidence, the spirit. For me what is actually happening is as, if not more, exciting than what might happen.

Basically, I've just said "let's take each game as it comes", haven't I?!?!?

I have heard the pundits saying that the league is the weakest it has been.
I believe that this year it is at its strongest my reasoning is that because there is so much money in the league the so called smaller clubs can afford to rebuff the monied clubs
next year with the xtra cash coming into the premier the smaller clubs will be even stronger the big boys cannot buy every player available
the big boys will be strong as normal but the smaller clubs will be stronger than this year.thereby making the league even more challenging it may be that the clubs with the better managers may be able to bridge the gap with the clubs that are run and guided by how much money they have to spend and pay on wages
thus making the likes of poch.ranieri. able to bridge the gap with the money boys

This is 100% true, we've had a great season until February but the season ends in May. It's far from impossible that we'll finish fifth and fail in both cups then at the end of the season the richer clubs will be tapping up our best players and our manager. I'm not a prophet of doom, I happen to think we'll get to a final and finish fourth but neither of those are guaranteed. It's just we've been ahead of the scum at around this stage of the season a number of times in recent years and they've come out ahead. I don't want to get my hopes up but I genuinely believe this time it really is different. This is the best team in three decades and it comes at a time when Manyoo and Chelski are having unusually bad seasons. In September I thought we had next to no chance of finishing ahead of either of them, now I think it's likely. Let's not build up the pressure on the squad, I'm much happier with us being dark horses.

Another way in which things could, in theory, go wrong is that we could finish 4th and then get knocked out in the qualifying round of the Champions League.

IIRC, the qualifying round takes place well before the end of the transfer window. If we don't go through, it wouldn't be impossible for us to lose a couple of key players through the usual mechanism of destabilisation by the press, combined with tapping-up, followed by toys flying out of prams, followed by Pochettino wanting disruptive influences out of his squad.

But I doubt that would happen. There's too much of a buzz in the squad at present.

Im not getting carried away at all. Even if we win the league and the FA cup, yeah its a double, and yeah the team have done well but with our luck next season will be a total wash out. We wont win anything and all out players will be sold and Poch will have left because of this season's success, so nah fuck it im not one bit excited....
