Disagree. I completely admire the way he approached the game, tactically. I don't think they'd have had the level of control they did if they'd have matched our shape.

They'd have likely still won, but not with that level of dominance.

I guess we'll never know.

They certainly played well, but we had no interest in going through so it becomes irrelevant.

And just to repeat myself...I'm glad. Bullshit, season-ending, failure-rewarding mockery of a competition.

Lets face it. It was a lose lose. Had we beaten Dortmund and lost to Villa. This place would be melting through the floor. It still may be. It's a tough choice and I would have liked to have been in this game for no other selfish reason than I had tickets To the home leg. But come May. If I am standing on the high road. With my son on my shoulders as the bus slowly winds its way past. I will not give a shit. But yes at the moment. It stinks.

He more or less threw the game.

And something had to give. Everyone can see some key players are jaded and need to be rested.

We need to make CL, it's much more significant to our future.

No way we could have committed what was required to beat Dortmund over the two legs - we need those resources for the league.
Blunt, but true. Would have taken all we have to get past Dortmund....and then we're into another fierce, two-legged tie at the quarter finals. Running on fumes at that point, and the PL run in is unforgiving!

Or if you're at the lane to Barcelona, Bayern or Real in the CL next season, watching our further improved squad - improved because we qualified and upgraded in a few positions to make a group of 1st team players - walk out in lillywhite, proud as fuck.

Sorry, who is 'they'? Because I'm not sure Poch cares about ticket promotion, and the social media team don't pick the starting XI.
Nah, not having that chap, and I normally agree with 99% of your posts. The Club have been making a really big deal about this tie since it was drawn, and the fans who spent good money to travel to Germany and watch that deserved either to see a team selected that matched the level of importance that the Club couldn't do enough to attach to this tie in the run-up to today, or else they deserved to not have THFC build-up this game as our biggest in years before they spent their money on seeing a teamsheet like the one we submitted tonight.

Don't care about any counter-arguments that Pochettino and the Club's PR departments are very separate entities: THFC shouldn't have made such a song and dance about this game to persuade fans to part with their money if Pochettino wasn't going to select a team that reflected the scale of that song and dance.

In one hand glad some of the senior guys got time off, and we get out of a pretty devalued competition. On the other hand disappointed we had the opportunity to mix it with one of the big boys of European football and decided to wave the white flag. Kind of makes you question our ethos of to dare is to do and the game being about glory. Feel a bit meh after that result.

MoPo is going to cop soooo much flak if we don't destroy Villa this weekend...

The problem is, I think he just might.
