Stroll in the park - I think if Kane had taken his early chance we could have got double figures and 2-0 against such a poor side is a bit below par really.

We can't be too critical about the performances this stage of the season, the 3 points is all that matters. A clean sheet and another 2 to our goal difference and Kane is getting the goals again.

Id take another 8 wins like that.....

That's the point, you won't get another 8 wins playing like that. As it was Villa nearly got back into that game. And it was Villa, possibly the shitest team in the world right now.

We could have thrown this away on another day.

Shocking from us today - wins a win but questions have to be asked about the performance.

We show up like this vs Bournemouth and we won't get 3 points.

Still look fatigued, has to be a really weakened team on Thursday for me.

I'm sorry but it's pretty obvious we were just conserving energy once we went 2-0 up. We were a bit sloppy and unadventurous but it certainly wasn't shocking, just sensible. It's about getting the points at this stage of the season, not winning 5-0

If lloris has a screwed kick out his distribution is crap, does the same work for kane if he hits the bar?

I think this was one of those games where you can genuinely make a case for players like Mason and Bentaleb to play. Players who will control a game, not keep fucking dawdling, not keep giving the ball away cheaply, set some tempo, move the ball quicker and exploit the utter wide open shitness of Villa.
Thing is bents has done that quite a bit in his cameos and I don't think poch trusts him (for that reason and, quite possibly, his 'I'm the boy' attitude).

Important win to bring the confidence levels up again. Should put out the reserves against Dortmund and get fired up for Bournemouth.

One thing that stood out about the Dortmund players was the close control when receiving the ball surrounded by defenders. We need to develop that, especially with the youth players coming through.

Lucky to get away with a clean sheet to be honest, we definitely went down a gear in the last 15, I'm unsure if that was instructed as we're trying to manage tired legs a little better or if we mentally switched off due to the relative ease of the game. Massive shout out to Walker today, I thought he was nearly flawless.

Could and should have won by more

We can't complain though, the win is the main thing (ask man city after their game vs Norwich)

We extend our lead on those behind us and put pressure on them to win their game in hand and we put ourselves in a position where we will have made ground on leicester at the top if they somehow slip up against Newcastle (hopefully the players will put on a more spirited performace now McClaren is out)

Utd and west ham must face a replay and arsenal suffer a demoralising fa cup defeat with barca up next

Good day all round

Why the fuck is Wimmer giving it back to Lloris to whack when Wimmer could have just fucking whacked it from further up the pitch.
Not one of them was thinking straight all game. We hit a couple of periods where we went on automatic and played our game and made two goals, but apart from that our heads were in 'oh no we could possibly win the title...wtf do I do!!' mode.

City losing, us winning and Arsenal not winning 3 games in a row, I'm quite happy with how things turned up. I never liked Benitez but I might become a fan if he gets at least a draw tomorrow.

The most important thing that came out of today, other than the 3 points obviously, is that Kane followed up his goal against Arse..l with another 2. If we are to have any chance of winning the league we need Kane to go on one of his scoring runs
