Think we are going to see a lot of this squad in PL, at least until Vertonghen and Clinton return from injury or Bentaleb is back in favour or Poch wants to give a youngster or two some experience.

Lloris
Walker, Alderweireld, Wimmer, Rose;
Dier, Dembele,
Lamela, Alli, Eriksen
Kane.

Subs: Vorm, Davies, Trippier, Carroll, Mason, Chadli, Son,

Obviously we beat Bournemouth reasonably easily away at their place in the autumn, but since then their form has been exceptionally good. So much so that if the season had started on 1 December they would be in 3rd position, not far behind us.

A remarkable achievement from Eddie Howe and Bournemouth. Third in the Premier League since December 1 #MNF pic.twitter.com/iPtwuH7nDy

We also know that they are the only PL side who have run more than us this season.

So overall not a side to take for granted - and I hope Poch has told the players that too !

Bournemouth are also the only team to be likely to field two former Spurs Academy graduates as fullbacks in Smith and Daniels

Having said that, we should win maybe 3-1, and for us its a must win game to keep the pressure on Leicester who will have played Crystal Palace on Saturday, and perhaps put more distance below us with Arsenal away at Everton and the two Mancs meeting.

Given that they're a hardworking and for all intents and purposes, attacking side, Bournemouth are exactly the kind of side we do well against. Mostly because they want to be a team like us but have nowhere near the quality or depth.

If they make the mistake of trying to go toe to toe with us they'll most likely end up on the wrong side of a stern caning :pompous:

That's my humble onion anyway

I want us to rest Dier for this one.

A shame but I think we can do it without him and I absolutely want him available for Liverpool away, I think Liverpool will be the defining moment in or season. Win it and anything is possible.

We need Dier imo for this game, it's a must win. If he can make it through Bournemouth, and he then gets a booking v Liverpool perhaps even Vertonghen could play the DM role against manure etc while Dier is suspended. Just a thought

Last game before international break isn't it? Full strength and then take Kane and Alli off just before the end with an "injury" that keeps them out of the internationals.

Bournemouth have done incredibly well and they're very threatening going forward. The good thing for us though is they concede quite a lot - they seem to win games 3-2 quite often.

So I expect goals in this, and we should outscore them. I'm going to go for a crazy 4-2 scoreline.

People should really just shut the f*** up about resting a this point. Absolutely not needed, unless players are to tired, which they shouldn't since we have 1 game each week basically from now on. Play the strongest team every match at this point, dont care about rotation, keeping all the players happy etc. Messi & Ronaldo don't get rested. Do we wanna win the league or not? - this is our chance!

One poster above mentioned "resting" Dier because of the yellow card issue. What's your view on that?

This is going to be a really hard game and we must win it to have a chance. Resting anyone would be a mistake. There is a week off after Bournemouth, we will be out of the Europa and only seven games left.
We must play the strongest team in every game, no tiredness, no excuses.

Villa lineup, rinse and repeat for the next 9 weekends. Though we're playing with fire if Dier gets carded.

I'd be really hesitant to reinstate Jan, Clinton or Bentaleb at this point.

This will be my standard lineup from here on out without Europa League to worry about (with the exception of Vertonghen/N'Jie returning):

Lloris
Walker Toby Wimmer/Verts Rose
Dier Dembele
Lamela Alli Eriksen
Kane

Bench: Vorm, Trippier, Davies/Wimmer, Mason, Carroll/N'Jie, Chadli, Son

* Hopefully Dier doesn't get another yellow by 10 April or this will have to change for two games.

If and when Jan gets back and fully fit you can take the risk of resting Dyer and play Toby in the DM position where he played at Southampton.
But until then play the 11 who beat Villa as long as they are fit as they will only be playing once a week from Thursday on.
It would also be nice if a few of them got small niggles and miss the international week.

I think we have to play Dier v Bournemouth. Walking a real tightrope with this one but he needs to play and be on his best behaviour.

Not convinced by the argument to leave Dier out on the basis he may be booked and therefore suspended for following games. This season, more than others in recent memory, has shown that no side can guarantee 3 points in any fixture. You approach each game fighting tooth and nail for the win that you know may not happen again in the following fixtures. A win on Sunday, should pretty much guarantee CL football for next year considering the other games this weekend. With that cushion coupled with sole focus on one competition should keep momentum going and maintain pressure on Leicester.

Certainly, you would expect Poch to sub Dier if the conditions allowed it to mitigate the risk, however the guy must start. We will deal with any suspension as we would an unfortunate injury (that could easily occur on the training ground) with the talented players in the squad.

Team therefore picks itself - same as Villa.

Agree to an extent. Even at the risk of a yellow, you would want Dier to play his natural game to get us the vital 3 points.
