How stressful has this season been for you?

A lot of people don't know this about me but I have a heart condition (yet to be proven it's spurs related but I can guarantee it is haha) I always thought that watching us when we were fighting for cups in the 90's/00's or recently fighting for a champions league spot was stressful but being in a title race, I can genuinely say I don't think I have ever felt stress like it.

I can quite literally feel my blood pressure about to explode when watching us, some games it's OK (especially recently because I just feel like we can beat anyone which makes things far less stressful.)

But about 4 weeks ago it was unbearable, I literally found myself trying to only watch snippets of the game, trying to keep myself busy whilst watching it so I wasn't getting to "involved" but my passion for us prevents me from doing so LOL.

I dread to think what it will be like if we are in a final day showdown, with a win making us lift the trophey.

My Mrs is convinced Spurs is going to make me keel over but honestly this season is the first time I have ever really let the stress get to me, I am really relaxed in every other aspect of my life.

It's bloody hard work but at the same time amazing to know we are in a title race, I guess if we do this every season it won't be that difficult as I won't fear that it may be the last time for a long time etc, although to be fair it's obvious to me this team will be challenging every season for the near future now, I actually believe we will win it multiple times over the next few years (maybe not the year the stadium is being built.)

But I am curious to know if anyone else is struggling to watch matches with the same level of intensity and focus as previous seasons because of the title race? Is anybody suffering from adverse effects?

I find if we get an early goal I relax more but even then it's tough.

I am pretty sure I have ulcers at this point in time and that's just thinking about Vardy's steptoe rat face so you can only imagine what the title race is doing LOL. (Joking, but seriously, anal leakage is common right?)

In all seriousness I never thought a title race would be this stressful?

It's been nervous at times but it's the kind of excited nerves that makes you feel more alive. I suggest you get out more ;)

I am enjoying it. Wasn't expecting to do well at the start of the season so this is a massive bonus.

not stressful. I didn't expect us to be top 2 and still going for the title. even if we drop n finish 4th I will be happy as that's what I'd have looked for.

still don't expect us to win the league just now.

I'm 68. Attended almost every home home and many away. But like you I can't bear to watch more than snippits on TV until game is over. Silly isn't it?

Bit surreal to be actually genuinely challenging for the league, but not stressful.

Saying that, I do get a bit twitchy when we're leading by just the one goal.

I've really enjoyed most of it. More stressed when we're a goal in front than when we're a goal down!

Found the last couple of matches very tense (until our 2nd half blitz attacks), and I'll feel the same way for the remaining games. Not just the title, but there's still the faint possibility of Arsenal going on a run of 15 points (although we'd need to lose one and draw two of our last four for that to happen...or lose two and win two). Nothing about our form suggests that will happen, but old negative habits die hard.

Winston, you need to calm your skin down, it's only football!!

Nah its not just only football, its our Club!! - and this season has been fucking epic! No matter where we finish we're at the beginning of something special.

Penny dropped with Carragher on MNF as well!!

I don't really get stressed about football...well at least I didn't until this season, been stressed out in all the big matches and now that we're getting to the end of the season I can feel my stress levels increasing.

Trying your absolute best to convince yourself you won't be getting a Wenger tattoo aren't you? haha.

Been going since 76 and this is the first time we are genuinely the best team in the league as agreed by everyone. It's a strange feeling. I expect us to screw it up literally every match and so that is the stress I suppose. This feeling of potentially winning the title is uncharted territory and I love the feeling although I will be relieved when it is over (hopefully 15th May and not before).
