I had a boss from Naples a few years back. One of the other guys who worked for him was from Milan. He'd always jokingly wind him up claiming people from Naples actually supported Argentina in that game. He would always somewhat uncomfortably deny it of course, but you could tell that was an accusation levelled at many fans.Interesting
Maradonna said something very similar about the 1990 semi final Argentina vs Italy
He was the favourite son of Napoli at the time and he used the major north south divide (and disconnection from the people of Naples to the Italian national identity) to garner support for him and his Argentina team from the Naples crowd as they battled the Italian national team for a place in the World cup final

I think the club would prefer to buy a centre forward / attacking midfielder rather than an out and out centre forward such as Batshuayi, i can't see us paying 20m pound's odd for a player who is going to be just back up for H.
The things is though, with 38 PL games, at least 6 CL plus the League cup and FA cup he would get a lot of games. I would see him as an alternative to Harry not a backup. It would, hopefully, stop Harry getting stale.

Son? Lamella?I understand what your saying but i don't think the club will pay 20m odd for a player who won't be in our strongest eleven !
Son? Lamella?
Both purchased for over 20M with the intention of them competing for a spot. So yes, I can easily see us doing that.

Kane will want to be playing as many as possible to break the 20 goal and maybe even aim for 30 goal mark to emulate Shearer.

We paid £22m for Son to be back-up to Lamela and Eriksen.
CF is the type of position where you really need a specialist. We've already got loads of WF who can 'do a job' at CF (Son, Njie and Chadli)
Whilst you are right, he doesn't pick the team and there will be times when Poch will want to change things around during games. We do need an adequate alternative.
I thought the team picked itself!!!But... What if he DOES pick the team??

#Tottenham head of recruitment Paul Mitchell was at Coupe de France final (Marseille 2-4 PSG). Target Batshuayi played full 90m and scored.

Lamela was definitely bought as a first team player and perhaps Son as well, even if they weren't, they had 3 places to contest and no one with the stature of Kane in front of them.
