Finally....A proper view in the Olympic stadium without carefully selected angles or seats. Good luck with that lads! The new Delle Alpi.

They're packing the place with kids, it'd be too dangerous to have them anywhere near the goal. One missed shot from Dembele and it could be fatal.

Seriously though, it'd be funny if someone deliberately kicked it wide, what are they going to do, pack it with ball boys?

Somewhat depressing if as that times article suggests, we get £25M for each shirt and stadium sponsorship from Nike. So £50M in total, and £10M less than nike are paying Chelsea just to make their shirts.

Just to be clear, since this is a common cause for confusion, it's the kit manufacturing that they're saying will be Nike, not the shirt sponsor. Confusingly it's sometimes called the "kit sponsor" which makes it sound like the shirt sponsor, which leads people to start rumours that we're going to be sponsored Nike who are also going to sponsor the stadium.

It's not that depressing really. With the TV deal and new overseas deal to come soon, these kit deals are getting to be more like chump change to clubs.

Sure I read they were putting in temporary seats over the track when the plans were first put forward to appease the fans.

Doesn't look possible now!

I've lost touch with this a bit over here in China where I can't see a lot of these pics without faffin around with vpns.

I seriously thought they were installing the latest high tech retractable seating... Remember Brady babbling on about it.

The question is, are the lower seats now a kind of temporary structure that is brought forward to cover the running track? There was I understand going to be a gap behind the lower structure and the upper which would then be covered. The picture you see here could have the seats in their 'set back' position needed for the games later this summer and then be brought forward again for the start of the football season? This doesn't of course help those fans in the upper tier but might explain the image. If we can manage this by having pitches on top of each other then surely they can do this with their seating relatively easily.

*Edit - will probably have fans 'painted' onto the filler structure to make the ground appear even fuller!!

edmonton: I don't want to go into details but there is potential if the stadium isn't ready at the start of the 18/19 season we might be able to move in after a few home games played elsewhere.
The current expectation is that the stadium will be finished in time but it is a bit tight.

So we are paying the FA £20m for a handful of games and West Ham are paying £2m a season for their stadium? Seems fair.

Thinking about how much we'll be expected to pay for Wembley, I wonder how much Levy charges The FA for using our training facilities?

£20m and one pound? :sneaky:

That did make me chuckle, so thanks, I needed that!

I'd imagine someone as savvy as Levy would almost certainly have factored the international team using our facilities, into any potential agreement for Wembley between The FA & THFC, though?

The Standard seems to believe (from 5 hours ago) an agreement is in place to keep using Wembley..

Tottenham have a contingency plan in place to play at Wembley for a longer period if building work on their new stadium overruns.

Mauricio Pochettino and his men are expected to play their Champions League matches at the national stadium next season and then use it as a temporary home while White Hart Lane is rebuilt the following campaign.

The club expect to spend a year away from their traditional home while construction is completed on the new 61,000-seat ground. But they have contingency measures in place to use Wembley for a longer period if necessary.

Interesting, this will obviously have been discussed with the FA and the premier league while negotiating for use of Wembley. It would make sense to rent wembley on a game by game basis if we do run over. I guess it's just a matter of the premier league allowing us.

Hmm, 90,000 attendance doesn't necessarily mean all Spurs fans though

Wembley sold various seat packages to fund the construction under the name of 'Club Wembley' and I believe that many of those have the right to buy tickets for whatever event is held there in preference to anyone else. Not sure on exact numbers but it might well be 20,000 or so of the seats operate that way.

Will we get ticket revenue on Club Wembley members in that case?

Many of these find their way on the market one way or another and are snapped up by fans.

think of the profile, and the new fans we could entice. Little Johnny, his dad don't like football, but takes him along and he falls in love with the all white, Kane etc.. The husband and wife from China, on hols, do likewise and buy loads of merch. The Spurs fans in the ground will create a good atmosphere I'm sure.

Club Wembley is only valid for a pre-specified list of Wembley Events, not every game played there. It shouldn't impact our CL matches there any more than Tottenham ST holders would automatically get a right to buy up NFL matches at the new stadium.

Agreed , certainly do us no harm publicity wise - provided most of the 90,000 seats are sold out.

I rather think Club Wembley members have first right of refusal on all tickets for 'their' seat and exact position varies on the package that member bought.. Of course not every member will want to go to the match, so many or at least some may be available, but maybe via Wembley rather than Spurs - but no doubt the answer will be in the Spurs/Wembley contract.

I dont know if the PL would grant an exception to use more than 1 stadium for home games so I'd imagine if there is a run over, the options are to just play a bunch of away games to start the season and move in around say October, if they dont think it'll take long to finish, or stay at Wembley for a 2nd season.

I get it. But it's a crying shame that we won't be able to enjoy any of those famous European nights at the Lane in it's final season.

Some of the greatest moments at WHL were European games under the floodlights and it seemed almost destiny that we'd be in the CL for our final season.

Personally I'd have preferred to keep the games at the Lane and it makes me kind of sad that I've seen my last ever European night there.

Agree, not to mention the pain in the arse it will be to get home from Wembley on a week night.

I also think it will negate the home advantage, but on the flip side it should help our players get used to Wembley.

I can understand why it's being done, but from a personal point of view I'd rather we weren't going down that road.

Would it be fair to say that it adds an away 'negative'.

You'd almost think the club missed a trick marketing wise
