I don't think Winks will get much game time, he is behind Alli, Mason and Carroll in the pecking order. We may even buy another midfielder. It's going to be hard for him to make it.

We don't know that until the season starts, and based off pre-season, he should definitely be ahead of Mason and Carroll.

I don't base too much on preseason games.
Mason and Carroll have more experience, this is a big season for us so Poch will not want to take too many chances .

In the case of Carroll, I think Winks is genuinely a better player.

I'd be surprised if Carroll was an option ahead of Winks in the CM2 to be honest. Poch seems to see him as more of an option in the AM3 now.

Very excited to see him seeing as I have a little snippet of ITK on him from the Monaco home game. I remember seeing him in one of the lounges with an older guy, not sure if it was a coach or his dad but they did share a hug. Harry was sad he wasn't out there believing Poch was being unfair to him and playing Tom. The other guy calmed him down and reassured him he'd get his chance eventually. Hope this season he gets that chance, he's very eager to play and has done well in pre season

What is that based on? What you've seen in preseason or what you have seen over a long period of time?
I haven't seen enough of him. I have seen a number of players built up by supporters and then dropped like a stone very quickly, Bentaleb and Carroll are two such recent examples. Even when Kane was a bit off form some people were thinking he was a one season. Mason and Carroll are two good squad players and if Winks ends up being a decent squad player as well I am happy with that. I don't think other people will be though as in the case with Mason and Carroll, people will soon call for him to be upgraded if he isn't anything more than a good or decent squad player.

I've seen him for the U21s and the first team friendlies (and his very few first team minutes) and he's always stood out for me. And to be fair, Carroll hasn't exactly set a high bar so saying Winks is better isn't exactly a major controversial statement.

Really pleased that he looks completely ready to play a part in the first team. He's done his job in these two pre-season friendlies, as he's given Poch no reason not to trust him up against top quality players. I know it's pre-season, but he's showed real quality in the two matches in Australia and I'm excited to see how he can help the team during the season!

Would love to see a Winks, Onomah and Alli midfield 3 start at some point this season. Been waiting to see that since I heard we were linked with Alli, so I hope it will be this season it finally happens

I would be surprised if Pochettino hasn't moved him ahead of Carroll in the pecking order. Carroll is probably going to move on this summer as he's at an age where he needs to be playing all the time and he's behind quite a few players. Onomah, Edwards and Winks have impressed in pre-season and in my view that will have made the coaching team's mind up that players like Carroll and Bentaleb can go...

Carroll played pretty well actually last season. He was a regular presence in the starting XI for much of that winter run that ammassed us a lot of points.

When Carroll played we looked really good till about 60-70 minutes not sure why, maybe the team tired or he did I think we needed to bring on some muscle and energy to keep control but yes he moved the ball really well.
