A GROUNDBREAKING £450 million project to build more than 1,400 new homes in Tottenham has moved a step closer after the shortlisting of six potential bidders to work with Haringey Council.

The High Road West scheme will also see the creation of new business space and a major public square. It will also feature a rebuilt £14m White Hart Lane station to serve Tottenham Hotspur FC’s new £600m stadium, work on which is scheduled to begin at the end of the 2016/17 season, plus a park, bars, cafés, library and learning centre and a public area to host screenings and community events

The shortlisted companies are Barratt Developments PLC; Countryside Properties UK Limited; Lendlease Development Limited; Linkcity (Bouygues); Stanhope PLC, and Taylor Wimpey UK Ltd. A final decision will be announced by mid-2017.

Cllr Alan Strickland, Haringey Council’s cabinet member for housing, regeneration and planning said: “This is a project which will transform Tottenham and bring more than 1,400 new homes and thousands of new jobs to the area. Developments like High Road West send a clear signal that Tottenham is London’s most dynamic and important regeneration area. The partner we select for this major project will share our vision for a development that brings huge benefits for our residents and businesses for generations to come.”

Please tell me that was the camera that flipped upside down at the end of that video and not the plane.

next time please get a passenger to do the filming, surely it's not safe to fly a plane when using a mobile device, that would be 6pts if the police caught you in a car, fuck knows the points for using a mobile while flying:whistle:

Slightly less chance of someone running out in front of you though.

Passing the ground at 4am this morning I was shocked to discover the cranes each have a red light on them. Whatever happened to our never red policy? What's the point in having the club crest on them? I lay the blame firmly at Paul Mitchell's feet as this will result in a swift conclusion to this matter. Go, and take your seedy red lights with you.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but with all the money now coming in to the prem and clubs spending like crazy with our pretty neutral transfer policy does anyone know or understand where this will leave us with finances for the stadium?
I know that sponsorship deals won't be announced for some time but surely we will be in a pretty strong position regardless?
I'm sure there are people out there that understand this a lot more than me. (y)

We might have timed the stadium build at exactly the right time. TV revenues are at an all time high, the squad is already well established, and there isn't any other infrastructure at the club that needs investment right now. That we are breaking even on transfers means the extra revenue can be used on the stadium, and if we continue this zero net transfer spend for the next couple of years, even assuming we don't make money from CL campaigns, we would be building up what, £150m over the next four years?

the red lights are to make sure that David Pleat can find his way back to the Lane

They are building that 45 bed lodge and hydrotherapy centre up at Hotspur Way Krafty - infrastructure investment still to be paid for.

Why can't we learn from hong kong? If we are going to build that why not build offices and flats above and use the money from leasing to put back into our transport?
Hong kongs underground network makes over $3bn profit a year (i believe) and only charges 80p a journey (no matter how far).

Your suggestion would require common sense, which is almost as rare as hen's teeth among public sector planners over here.

Making better commercial use of TFL owned property was one of Sadiq Khan's pledges when running for Mayor. Too late for this project considering planning permission et al but I do hope we see more of it in the future - I wouldn't hold my breath though.
