A little bit from me on Poch and what Spurs could do this season:

'In footballing terms, Mauricio Pochettino is as brave as Premier League managers come.

The beautiful game before us today is a different beast to what it once was. The global behemoth that is the EPL demands of its members positive results on the pitch and in their end of year statements, otherwise they're out of the exclusive club and it can take years, even decades, before they are granted access again to mingle among the world's top sporting brands.'

More here and apologies for any crap ads.

Nice to see your optimistic writings again Allygold. Agree with all that. No massive holes in the squad and the manager is cementing his position as our answer to Fergie/Wenger for the long term.

"That embarrassing horror show at St James' Park in May could end up being the hardest and most precious lesson the young Spurs team could ever learn..."

All the motivation they need!

I hope it's right but the Arsenal/United/Liverpool bias media won't ever recognise us as a threat.
The chavs only get include because they're previous winners and spend silly money.

COYS! But is Wimmer injured? Don't fancy CCV having to debut against Lukaku trying to prove he is worth a big money transfer!

I was counting on Wimmer covering while Vertonghen was out so I'm hoping it's nothing serious, though I did note that Poch gave Toby and CCV 90 minutes against Inter. If we need him I think CCV will do OK, probably a better plan than starting Mason and moving Dier back.

Spurs have announced on Twitter vertonghen is ready to start the season and has been in full swing in recent training sessions :)

Not that it changes the wimmer sitch mind..

Awesome read Ally, as always. Your articles were the reason I came to read and become aware of spurscommunity about 12 years ago! Maybe I'll now have to subscribe to the Hertfordshire Mercury!
