This is a ridiculous fee. However, I'd rather him than no one- it was important to inject some new energy into the squad and I'd imagine it will give the players a boost to see this tank stride into training for the first time. He was France's most dynamic player at the Euros imo (check out his YouTube highlights vs Portugal in the final), has a good amount of experience that the squad was arguably missing and though he may not have the finesse that we've been lacking he certainly has the pace, power and ball-carrying ability to help us get through packed midfield lines.

Because due to the new TV deal, football economics are highly inflationary and £30m this window is like £15m a year ago.

It would be great to time travel to the beginning of this thread and say "by the end of today we will have broken out transfer record" and then drop the mic and leg it.
