Judge away old son, you highlight the difference between a Supporter and a fan.

Just a shame it will fall on deaf ears with the fucktards.

People complain when the care and love their club............ If we did not care there is a million other things we could spend our time and money on... Everyone is different no need to question the loyalty of people who are only voicing their opinion..

IMO Sissoko is a direct alternative to Dembele. All these comments I keep seeing makes me wonder if half you lot even watch football? Did you not see him muscle past us and set up atleast 2 goals on the last day of last season? Did you not see him at the Euros? Against Portugal? He's pretty much Dembele strength wise who can actually cross a ball and play further forward if necessary. We're all all seeing how much we miss Mousa considering how important to us he was last season.

What was our biggest flaws last season? No backup for Dembele when he got suspended - Sissoko. No back up for Dier - Wanyama. No back up for Kane - Jansen. Get a grip guys. All the major positions we needed to be filled have been, and very competently IMO.

As someone else stated we don't need a £60m signing to improve the squad, it would be nice but it's not NEEDED. What we needed was back ups for Dier, Dembele and Kane. We've done that now.

Isco would have been the icing on the cake as Eriksen has hit a dip, arguably the only other player that needs some kind of competition.

But I'm glad Poch has got in the players he wanted. He seems to be trusted with money with IMO says alot about what Levy thinks about him and hes proved us right so far so lets stick by these 2 and believe in the team we have right now, because lets face it, its the best we've had arguably ever.

Wasn't questioning loyalty to the club, just the ability to "support," or the lack thereof, more to the point.

You care so you moan? Give me a break!

We do not pay a club record 30 mill for a 27yr old back up! He will play a lot of games for us, with Dembele

Spurs fan just on Talksport moaning about our terrible window and how we haven't improved the squad at all and have bought nothing different.
You are never going to satisfy someone like that but I can't help thinking, if we have bought no one different, who that we already have is the same as Wanyama, as Jansen, as Sissoko and as Nkoudou?
Let's be honest, if you're an intelligent and insightful football fan and you call Talksport they are going to choose that one idiot everytime.

I think what pisses people off is that we had a chance to make a statement. To really go after the window and do more than just fill the gaps. For me with finishing 3rd, the knowledge we were looking to offload a lot of weight, and with CL/TV money, I thought we would really make a statement.

Instead I think we played it errantly safe. Is that negative? No, I don't think so because I have also stated how much I think we have improved. I think we will still be able to compete, but I also know that there will be many instances where we don't have that creative answer. And thus I think I am like many, falling onto a double edge sword. A damned if you do damned if you don't scenario. Cause we played the game and we ultimately succeeded but not to the extent we had hoped for.

And before anyone says "We went in for Gotze and we went in for Isco", I agree we did. But we failed those battles and that is awfully frustrating/painful. I want to be punching at our weight, but it seems I do not know exactly where we are. We certainly are not paying the wages and that has to be our breaking point. The reality hurts and the reality is that we spent 61m on depth rather than dramatic improvement.

How do you dramatically improve our first XI?

There's no question everyone has a right to voice their opinion. It's great that we have a forum that allows that. I've been on another Spurs forum and quickly got banned for voicing mine. This site is very good for that. Unfortunately it also means there will be a lot opinions that reflect negatively on the club and that can rub off on others. I do feel that there's a sweeping affect where all these complaints just bounce from one poster to another. There's a general bad vibe that spreads through the club and has done for a very long time. The transfer window seems like it's just constant bashing of our chairman and the way the transfer window has gone and not to everyone's liking.

I guess my biggest question really is to try and understand why it has got this way. There's a number of posts in this thread that still are complaining and explaining why people are upset in this window. However this is an ongoing thing and not to do with this transfer window. What I don't understand is why people choose to view their football club in such a pessimistic way. I for one am by no means stressed or upset by the negative views of others. It's just the way I've chosen to look on things in Football and life in general to not let other peoples negative energy rub off on me. At the end of the day this is a sport that we choose to follow and we have a club that we choose to support. It makes no sense to me why you would not then want to be optimistic and enjoy the club you follow as much possible.

It is an emotional game I appreciate that and there is understandable reason to complain at times. I am just as upset as anyone when we lose but a day passes and I'm over it and looking to the next game. There is only so much need for complaining and really the good far outweighs the bad with this club. I just wish the general tone here and also in the stadium was a much more positive one overall. That would only reflect well on the players too. It even goes as far as opposition teams saying "ok if we can keep it close for 60 mins this crowd will start to turn and the players will feel it". That's the type of influence we create for our own club. I worry now that these new signings that certain people are unhappy or underwhelmed with are a mistake away from those very fans shouting at them from the stands.

We all want the club to succeed but not all of us are helping the club do that.

Maybe this isn't the thread for that, but here are a couple names that left this window that I think would have improved our first 11 dramatically.

İlkay Gündoğan
Henrikh Mkhitaryan
N'Golo Kanté
Mario Gotze
Ousmane Dembélé
Alen Halilovic

These are just people moved this window and that I think could step in today and take a spot from our current rotation. That doesn't even branch into the people who didn't move.

But this is hypothetical and there is only one team to support now. The one we are going to field.

Gundogan- went to a bigger club
Mkhitaryan- went to a bigger club
Kante- went to a bigger club
Gotze- Only wanted to go to Dortmund (and most players would chose them over us).
Dembele- Said he wanted to go to Germany
Hallilovic- Barca have a hugely favourable buy-back clause. A bit odd you included him in this list because as far as I know he hasn't been great in Spain. Not sure he'd improve our first team.

I think Isco and Gotze were the only players we could've realistically signed that wouldn't have cost an extortionate amount of money and would've clearly improved our first team. Simply because they were probably unwanted at bigger clubs- but Gotze clearly only wanted to join one team, and Isco chose to stay. Not a lot we could've done.

Gundogan - Man City, cannot compete with wages and I wouldnt want to right now either.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan - Around £200k a week. We are in no position to offer that money to anyone.
N'Golo Kanté - £100k from what I read, again too much.
Mario Gotze - About £120k, which isnt too terrible, but then you factor it the transfer fee..
Ousmane Dembélé - Slight argument here, but he chose a team thats consistently in the CL whereas we are not.
Alen Halilovic - Pointless to even think about right now tbh.

Its all about the statement of intent.

If net spend was zero every year, and there were 10 clubs that made money from signings, and there were not millions extra in Tv money every year, and we were not one of the most expensive places to watch football in the WORLD, the Op would have a point.

But we are bottom pf the table for 7 years running in tfr spend, and we ARE one the most expensive tickets in the world, and we DO have millions extra every year from TV, and our wage bill has DECREASED.

They are taking the piss.

Sissokho, Another huffer and puffer. Will tear his way up the wing, skip 3 tackles and cross it into the 8th row, all day long. If that is our statement signing after getting into the CL groups then my ticket will be up for grabs.
You (or anyone else who want to partake) are Poch

Who would you have signed to improve our 1st 11?
Who would you have signed to improve the squad?
What guarantees do you have that the player would (a) want to come to Spurs and (b) you could afford the wages?
Who would you release to balance the books?

Your answers will either demonstrate that Poch and Levy got it wrong or will confirm as I suspect you have not a clue about the realities of running the club, the position of the club compared to the big ones and the dynamics of dealing with these and other clubs, which would explain the ignorance of your post.

In all walks in life you meet the optimistic ones and the pessimistic ones, and unfortunately that isn't going to change.

So I am fully aware of this and knew I shouldn't have said anything, but I was just responding to someone that asked who would you chase? And I clearly stipulated, when I wrote the original that wages are obviously what holds us back.

Aware folks! Completely aware :)

Sissoko to me was a good buy, was he a bit much yes, but will he help us God yes, he is 100x better than Mason and Chadli, those guys are good but not what we need, did not offer much,Sissoko improved are squad , Believe in Poch, we didn't end up 3rd last Season by luck alone.
