Yea I saw an interview with Scott Coker where he talked about Lashley (who I'd never heard of as I don't follow wwf) but apparantly he heard of him when he was coming out the the marines and tried to sign him to strike force only for him to get lured in to pro Wrestling by vince mcmahon

He's now signed him for Bellator

Apparantly no one has ever seen Lashley be taken down, even in training (so said brendan schaub)

It is also key to point out lashley fights in weird arse places like Missouri, Kansas, and Connecticut to name but a few would that be to try and avoid a comprehensive drug test hmmmmmmmmmm lol

So now Dana White says its Alvarez vs Khabib at 205. Makes sense as he's the #1 contender, but it's UFC 205, the first event taking place in NY making it potentially the biggest one if UFC history.. You'd think you'd want to put together as big a card as you can. Jones is out due to steroids, as is Lesnar. Rousey is still on break and who knows if she'll ever fight again. McGregor was the one who wanted the Alvarez fight at 205 to begin with. Your biggest star wants to fight at 205, potentially the biggest event in the company's history, and you say no? Uhhhhh

I still think it will be Connor vs Alvarez for 205

Khabib deserves the title shot no question but ufc will want big numbers for their first show in NYC

Bottom line is connor is the cash cow right now

His challenge to become a 2 weight world champ is by far the biggest thing the ufc can put on in terms of world wide mainsteam appeal

It would make the most money and be the biggest possible event

If connor wants it he get it

If it doesnt happen then I suspect connor doesn't want the fight so soon after his 2 wars with Nate

Anyone see Cyborg's demolition job? Thought that one could have been stopped a lot sooner.

I managed to get tickets for UFC 204! My first time going :) Very excited even if it's not the greatest card.

Bisping v Hendo should be a good 'un in his back garden.

I saw her stoppage and Roy Nelson destroying big foot

Enjoy 204, hopefully it will be a great card for you in terms of exciting fights and finishes on the night

McGregor/Alvarez for the lightweight title at 205 just announced @Shea @JohanTheYid

Now just need Weidman/Romero announced.

Just like that, UFC 205 is looking insane. The fight that the Garden deserved has been booked.

It was a decent card before, but just needed one or two headliners to really make it special!

Love him or hate him, McGregor is an entertaining bastard!

Definitely needed Conor/Ronda to make it a top top card - better than 200 imo especially if Weidman is announced

No surprise that McGregor will headline the New York card. It just shows how much control he has now that he still keeps his Featherweight title and fights a 3rd non Featherweight fight in a row. Considering he was going to fight for the belt earlier in the year it is not surprising he gets the shot he wanted.

Alvarez will be a tough test for him. On the feet Conor will have his number but Alvarez will try and take him to the ground. I was impressed with Conor's takedown defence against Diaz but then Diaz doesn't shoot takedowns like wrestlers do. He tends to clinch and drag his opponent down. Alvarez will shoot from further back and that's where Chad Mendes had some success against Conor.

I think Conor will TKO him but it will be a close fight. If he wins then he becomes the first fighter to hold 2 titles in separate weight divisions at the same time. Although I would not be surprised if he drops the Featherweight belt should he win the Lightweight belt. He just doesn't seem at all motivated to fight at Featherweight again.

It was a decent card but not for the spectical. First ever event in NYC. At Madison Square Garden. The card had to be special or it was a failure. It had to have McGregor and a few title fights. Anything less was a failure. Now UFC has to hope they all are healthy and stay healthy.

After this, I wouldnt be surprised if he goes back up to 170 to fight Diaz again. Then he should be done with welterweight.

I think if he wins he could defend the belt against Diaz. That would make sense since it adds the title element to the rubber match. The trilogy will happen on Conor's terms which will be at 155 as he suggested after the 2nd fight. He never really intended to fight at 170 in the first place so I doubt we'll see him there again anytime soon.

I'd like to see Nate Diaz vs Khabib Nurmagomedov after that brawl we saw a year ago at WSOF. Winner faces the winner of Alvarez vs McGregor for the belt.
