Absolutely this, my mother in law is prone to fits of rage where she literally just wants to say the most hurtful thing she can think of to the person she is angry at

She's never been married to my father in law and he's had 4 kids with her and 7 with other women (included about 2 or 3 that overlaped with her youngests) so they've not been together in all the years I've known her

But my wife has told me that in the past she has called their dad a black bastard and a nigger on more than one occasion during one of her angry outbursts.

She's not racist deep down as the previous poster said one must be to be able to say such things, she's just bitter about her situation and in times of rage she has said whatever she thought she could say to cause offense/upset to her babyfather

So I think it's very possible that opposing fans could just be caught up in the moment in a crowd environment and join in with a song that is there to offend the rival fans in the heat of the moment without them necessarily being racist or antisemitic

Not to say the offenders were not wrong or that they should not be punished, they should of course.
I think I see where you are coming from. If her utterance was aimed at all blacks then definitely racist. However if it was aimed out of spite and frustration to one particular individual who she had a personal relationship with, but never would never think that way about another black person, then she isn't. My opinion having been called these names all my life.

Wow sorry, I have to disagree with your first statement! So because I am white and British I am not subject to racist abuse.......you must be kidding me! I had a project in Bradford 18 months ago and every single day I was subject to horrible taunts and some serious racial abuse. Specifically remember an Indian guy telling me "you and your white privileged family will die & go to hell for your abuse of us, and I look forward to it". All I did was laugh at the pathetic guy and walked away. Working & living in London I have also been subject to various other things.

So to say that racial abuse is to all apart from White British people is completely wrong mate, and is actually a massive problem because so many others think it. Racial abuse of any kind, to anyone, is wrong its as simple as that.

I think if you re-read my statement i did say most White British people won't have come across racism.

Not sure where else to stick this but a quote from Hangelaand from a podcast and he was discussing the laziest players he knew

Emanuel Adebayor: Only played with him for 6 months but a quick story. I played for Fulham and he played for spurs. We were attacking and I was marking Adebayor in the midfield, suddenly he says "ahhh, I'm hungry". I replied "what?". "I can't wait for the game to finish, I'm so hungry. Do you know a good restaurant in London Hangeland?". Later when he came to Palace I started to realized where this came from. When we had strength workouts he would sit in the gym with just a cup of coffee and a muffin. He was being paid by City, Tottenham and Palace at the same time, and he was sitting in the gym drinking coffee. Incredible natural talent, very lazy.

Rubbish.

Peps can say what they like about Adebayor, imo he was a unique striker. He's style looked lazy but he was far from it.

I wonder how tactics Tim got the best out of Adebayor?

Probably there is a promise of a Muffin behind every cringeworthy salute...

He also says Dembele is the best player he has played with. Becoming a reoccurring theme.

Wow, I've seen some dumb things on here but you just hit some new lows.

Guess I'm so dumb that you will have to explain to me why a person shouting out some racist things and later apologizing for it is at all comparable to someone who apologizes for sexually abusing children (well, other than the fact that both are persons admitting to some wrong doing).

Exactly, so many people say that, there's got to be a lot of truth in it. It's such a shame he's 29, if Poch got hold of him earlier in his career he could've done some insane things.

Still don't agree with some of the people saying we should sell him to China if given the chance, I still think he's got 2 more seasons in him playing at the level he's at now as long as injuries don't really get ahold of him..

I think Poch did improve him a lot. Dembele was always incredibly strong on the ball, but it used to be, he never did anything with it subsequently. Since Poch is here, he started using his particular talent to its greatest potential, which is the sign of a good manager I'd say.

(sorry for straying off topic)
The best part of the entire interview with Hangeland was this:

Firstly, I didn't equate the two crimes, I equated the guilt. Secondly, a paedophile isn't only someone who physically abuses children just as a racist isn't only someone who physically assaults someone they hate. Perhaps in your world someone who watches porn involving children isn't guilty because they aren't physically participating directly in the abuse of the children, thankfully the law in this country disagrees. Finally this wasn't just someone saying any racist language, this involved people referring to the gassing of Jews, which in case you were unaware was a reference to the greatest genocide in history. Perhaps you would be similarly forgiving to some moron who was singing songs glorifying in the rape of millions of children so long as they said they were sorry, I wouldn't.

I doubt you are that callous, I suspect you are just someone who has never been, nor will ever be, the victim of racism whereas you have kids in your family so paedophilia matters to you but racism doesn't.

Say whatever you like about him but the facts are that he netted 35 goals in 92 games for Spurs. His goals to game ratio with whatever club he has been at is exceptional.

Lazy bugger he may have been but he could find the onion bag whichever club he played for.

No one question his talent, he could have been up there with Drogba if he wanted to. Excellent when in form, but overall let us down and it's all about attitude and professionalism

From Kumb:

They are business men, skilled in identifying and exploiting opportunities to make money. They brought money to the table when we needed it, and they brought their 'love of West Ham' (sic) to the table to keep us fans onside while they schemed in the background to exploit the opportunity presented by, primarily, the renegotiation of the Sky contract. But they did this to make money. Beginning and end of.

They simply do not have, and never have had, the best interests of the club or the supporters at heart.

They've 'loaned' money they can afford to lose, no doubt being used to offset tax liabilities elsewhere, which they will get back along with the generous interest that's being charged. They've actually given the club nothing at all. They've taken a calculated gamble in which the odds were stacked in their favour.

They're clever businessmen but I'm afraid that they're not Daniel Levy clever. Not even in his League. Sp**s are going to end up with an absolutely brilliant purpose built (AND multi-use...) stadium without having to move. They're going to end up more than likely in the Champs League with (it pains me to say it but...) a top side with a healthy mix of youth and class. Levy must be looking at the Daves and Brady and laughing until his sides hurt. He forced us into that stadium so he could get the permission for his. The Daves are clever, but by comparison Levy's genius.

I don't buy this c**p that they saved us. They've partly killed us. If they hadn't come along, someone else would. The opportunity was always there. And the move to the OS simply wasn't necessary on any level. In reality we are, in the great scheme of things, absolutely no further forward or anywhere nearer Europe than when they joined and, I would argue, we have a worse team. But they are richer and now sitting on an asset worth considerably more than what they paid for it. Because of Sky TV money which they had very little to do with.

And what sticks in my throat more than anything is this - if they were foreign owners with no history or knowledge of tradition simply looking to ride on the coat tails of the premier league (see Cardiff, Hull etc) to gain exposure and make money, I'd understand the single-minded desire to sell up, bank the cash and rent. But they're supposedly one of us. Absolute bull. None of us would have done what they've done. None of us.

I feel let down, utterly conned and really angry at what they've done. The sooner they sell up and move on the better as far as I'm concerned.

So you equated the guilt? Let's see... one person is guilty of hurting some people's feelings by saying some terribly mean and idiotic things, while the other one is guilty of either sexually molesting children or supporting the industry that does. I totally can see how both things are exactly the same. (y)

Oh, I'm Hispanic BTW.
