With 10 men we battered Gent. Don't get so carried away.
There's no alternative so why bother moaning anyway.
We'll be playing in another new stadium the season after like it or not so we might as well get used to it.

Perhaps playing at Wembley will encourage Poch to find a solution to our away form, which has actually been surprisingly poor this season - only 4 wins out of 13 in the league, and 0 out of 7 against the rest of the top 8. Similarly in Europe, we were decent against Moscow, but every other performance has been pretty dire - somewhat overlooked given all the focus on Wembley, in my opinion.

Playing week in week out at Wembley will be tough to start with but over an entire season the team will learn how to do this. Going forwards this will help us win big matches at the bigger stadiums. Including silverware. COME ON YOU SPURS

I will ask again, why not?
Because of many of the reasons which have been quoted on this thread before. My own view is probably best summed up by :
This is nothing to do with atmosphere or pitch sizes, but giving up home advantage in 19 league games because that is what it amounts to. Yes , the other potential stadiums mentioned are not our ' home' either, but they are normal league grounds which will be packed with 90% Spurs fans and not feel like ' a grand day out' for every visiting team. So, I suppose to be more specific, I would say that it is not a suitable stadium to play an entire home league season with any degree of confidence that we would be able to reach anything like the consistent performances we are seeing this season at WHL. Wembley will always seem more akin to a neutral ground.

As for the new Stadium, we have to trust that the club's efforts to prevent it becoming an Olympic Stadium scenario will be a success. We have no choice with that but we still do, it seems, with next season.
On a connected point, I find it somewhat odd that the club have not been bombarding us with ' last season at the Lane' memorabilia. It is not normally slow in seeing an opportunity for selling clothing, gifts, souvenirs etc . It just makes me wonder if there is something going on, maybe they are not 100% sure that we won't be still playing there next season?

As for Wembley why, if there really is no alternative, haven't we signed the option yet which has been on the table for months?

It would be stupid for Levy to sign up to Wembley before he needs to in March.

Giving up home advantage will happen when we play away for a season whether we like it or not. Small club stadium like MK where our fans will be raging because if the distance and lack of tickets or our Natuonal football stadium. Plenty of tickets and built for football.
Brady won't have us in Stratford, Arsenal won't have us at the emptycrates. Fulham/Charlton???? Give me a break.

Can't play a season at Wembley with confidence then we are a team of legends that don't deserve to play on the biggest stages. It's all about changing our mentality and that goes for the supporters aswell.

Yes, can't argue with a lot of what you say ,at face value, but the main thing your theory lacks is the effect on the opposition teams, which is out of our control. They will see this as a bit of a novelty, a free go, a neutral venue and a big day out, more of their fans will be packed in to make a lot of noise together, and I just don't see that we will be able to consistently overcome that. As for alternatives, you have mentioned most of them above . Will our fans be 'raging' over lack of tickets? it won't be hugely different to WHL this season and for one season only. No doubt we would still play European matches at Wembley .

Still haven't got my loyalty points.
How can they expect me to stay loyal if they don't show me loyalty?
I want to change clubs to Real M€drid.

I am really worried about playing every home game at Wembley next season, massive handicap if you look at how we have performed there this season.

What's the alternative though?

I take a slightly different look to playing at Wembley this season. Yes we have struggled - but the european teams have been technically better than any of the english teams we have played in the league. imo Monaco have been the best team we have played all season - technique, pace and Power.
Moving into next season - the Wembley pitch will suit us far more than the majority of teams we play against and may actually turn into an advantage. Teams sitting deep will have more space to cover and our fitness levels will also be an advantage on the larger pitch. I would like us toi add a little bit of pace and direct running to our attack in the summer, and if we could add a Zaha or Gray (Leicester) type of player then it sets our team up nicely for next season.

Another superbly controlled and dominant home display against Everton today. Souness commented afterwards that Evertyon had come with a plan to contain us with a defensive midfield and been totally outplayed. He said they should have stuck to their normal game. Another example of how different it is going to be next season as the same away teams fancy their chances at a neutral home ground. It's a real shame that this situation could totally stop our train in its tracks before we get to the new stadium.

If changing borough of London and playing in front of red seats disrupts the train then the train was never going anywhere. If they could have plopped a third tier on top of WHL that would have been great. Oh no wait the Anfield experiment gives me a head ache every time I watch a game from there. The new stadium will be beautiful we can buy you and the rest of the melts in here a nice bubble for the intervening year.

Although we played our games there this season, it's still only been 4 games over a period of a few months while playing all of the others back at WHL. We still haven't had a chance to fully make it our home for a full season of league and cups and haven't played English opposition yet to see how we are with that.

I wonder what the floor is on season ticket pricing for the Wembley year. £400?

They will have to reduce prices for some games so the ST prices have got to be low surely?

Going to be quite a shock though when they release the new stadium prices though. I think they might have to do them at the same time. A decrease for us fans at Wembley followed by the price hike at the new place.
