why not?
Who says test cricket should only be played one way?

that said, Aussies doing extremely well with their Spin dept - looks like all the coaching Monty did has worked out well for the aussies. If only England would make use of resources like Monty, Swann, Tuffers etc to prepare our spinners better.
Well, an Indian legend said so a number of years ago!

Yes we are in a good position in this match but when you look at the scores at the end of day 2 in a test match its clear it is nothing short of a dog of a pitch.

Something does need to be done about it. The home team has far too big an advantage as it is. And India are taking the piss with this now. They haven't toured away at a decent side for over 2 years so now find themselves top of the test rankings.

Well for all my huffing and puffing, the pitch has bit em on the ass!
India 6/99 at tea in their final innings, still needing 341. Not going to happen.
Big shout out to Steve O'Keefe. 11 wickets so far. Man of the man for sure.

Can't say I agree with the comments, Every home team is entitled to have the pitch to their advantage, England, Australia, SA all do the same with their pitches, just like non sub continent teams struggle with turning pitches is the same way the sub continent teams struggle with bouncy swinging pitches which they face in England and co.

Well done to the the Ozzies in this test though! they've looked excellent after all that anguishing talk of them being in trouble after they lost a recent test series!

England do. And they don't. There's been some controversy over the last few summers about certain pitches being wholly unsuitable for our bowlers.

The cynical view is that counties want their whole five days to maximise revenue :D

I partly agree with you. Playing at home should be an advantage, as it should in any sport to be honest, but surely they can produce a better pitch than they have been for years. England, Australia and South African pitches all have differences as do the sub continent pitches, but the three nations at least try to produce a pitch that has a bit of life early. I'm in Adelaide and at the sacred Adelaide Oval the ground staff will always try to produce a pitch that offers good life early for the bowlers, plays true for the batsmen and will turn a bit late in the match.

Yeah the South Africans gave us a good belting over three tests earlier. Some good came out of it though. Rod Marsh stepped down as chairman of selectors and a few new faces have been added to the batting. Renshaw will be a star for years to come and Handscombe looks the goods as well. Really looking forward to the Ashes later this year.

Logical that teams should prepare wickets to suit their players since climate plays such a factor around the world inevitably wickets will vary from country to country. However there has been a tendency to, and I am sure it is for economic reasons, prepare wickets that will get five days in.
Test cricket always brings surprises though and nice to see aussiespursguy less suicidal

Well that was a better and interesting test match..!
Yeah. Plenty of collapses. Again. You really never want to bat last on any sub continent pitches, but while we continue to select the brothers Marsh we will continue to struggle. Shaun's not so bad but what the f@$c does Mitchell offer if he has not bowled an over so far in the series?
Usman in for M Marsh in India FFS.
Rant over. Well played India on a fair wicket this time. Games on now.
So important to win the toss in the next couple!

To be honest, I think the model was unsustainable financially anyway. 18 Counties is too much I think.

Something needs to be done about the T20 blast as it drags on but the solution is changing the format. This franchise idea is going to cut out a lot of supporters. It'll be a cold day in hell when people in Sheffield and Bradford say they're going to support Leeds. How many Lancashire fans in Liverpool and Blackpool are going to throw their support behind a Manchester team? Are Somerset fans expected to travel to Bristol or Cardiff for each home game? What about Durham fans? I can't see many Derbyshire fans supporting Nottingham. This new tournament is all about making money and they don't care if the fans get screwed over.

If the ECB want to know why cricket is struggling then they should look in the mirror as they're the muppets that sold everything to Sky. If the ECB let a terrestrial channel show the T20 blast I think cricket would be doing a lot better in this country.

Haha, had a pretty shitty day but just got cheered up immensely.
Watching the IPL, an Aussie bowler just bowled a really bad delivery, he shouted loudly 'Oh you ****!' ...right next to the stump mic live at 5:30 in the afternoon :ROFLMAO:
