He said my defacto MOTM before we kick off. I then review thinking maybe it's Toby or Christian but then think better of it.

The opinions above remind me of that video of Ty when asked about which a spur would get in to the Arse team... I turned off at Cech is better than Hugo.
Without being too unkind (meh) I think there's a fairly good chance that Ty may well have some kind of mental defect. Being dressed from head to toe in the club shop being one indicator, and the other having no concept of reality.

All,

Nothing on what the oppo has to say sadly but reading the last few pages during my exciting work visit to Reading has genuinely made my evening bearable, some brilliant posts and forum digging. Have tried to rep most but thanks for some great reading. Love this thread when it's on point (y)(y)

I thought their play up until our penalty area was very good and at times during the 2nd half they played through our midfield which was slightly concerning.

We still had the better chances though, despite not being anywhere near our best.

Missed Kane badly. Not even so much his finishing, but ability to hold the ball up. Jansenn should have been on 20 mins earlier.

I was screaming for Vinnie to be brought on just to hold the ball up. We were poor for the last half an hour and constantly gave b

I dunno how anyone can not rate Wanyama, he's proven to be a beast this season, in fact, I don't understand why some of our fans were bashing him last summer prior to signing him, he did well at Southampton and thought he was a snip at 11m even at the time I thought he was going to be a squad player with Dier being the maIn CDM.

With those woolwich twats still saying he's crap just goes to show it doesn't matter how well a player can play, if they play for a team you don't like then there is a good chance they will think that player is shit and if they can't see big vic is better than 35m xhaka then they're simply retarded.

I have to say I misjudged Victor. He has been a revelation BUT might I add his performances for us are a level up from Southampton. He has really improved under Poch. In fact I might argue that he is the most improved player in the PL this season.

Yeah, but Southampton didn't really do anything of actually substance to us. They ran at us annnnnnd that's about it to be honest. They didn't really have a touch in our box ever and had to settle for bouncing it around the outside and they didn't even get the opportunity for long shots aside from the one Boufal missed.

I think our history clouds the judgment of some of our fans that if we don't have the ball and the opposition are trying to force the issue then we're frail. Even though in the last 2 years we're actually very good out of possession.

Guess the nerves came from the fact that if Long had been semi competent at timing his runs, we'd be in a heap of trouble, seeing as we weren't adjusting our line or managing to put enough pressure on the Soton players on the ball until Winks came on and strenghtened us in the middle of the park.

I don't think Vic has changed much, to be honest, I think his environment has suited him better. At Saints, he would tackle, lay the ball off, then have to do the same thing a couple of passes later.

Here, once he's won the ball, he can trust the team to keep it for a while, so he can look up, get his positioning right, marshal his teammates, even look for gaps in front of him that he can make attaching moves into.

So, basically, it's us, not him...

So...

1. We deploy a high line to catch people offside
2. Opponent is consistently offside
3. You want us to adjust our high line because its... working too much? Give them a chance I guess? How about when they have the ball we just sit down and let them have a pop at Hugo?

People are surprised at the gooners not rating Wanyama ahead of their own midfield? Do you not remember the 'Walcott is better than Bale' posts?

If you are to deploy a high line, the pressing has to be good. That wasn't always the case in that second half.

The whole tactic is based on opponents on the ball being under pressure. When they aren't, you are in danger. But luckily, the striker was Long and not Vardy.

Other than that, 3/10 on the sarcasm. Always a good idea to read what people write before just assuming they are among the simpletons that use «high line» as an insult.
